A fairy-tale about a beautiful but very haughty princess Anna who cruelly mocks each of her suitors. Finally she is forced by the king to marry a beggar. The poor life, hard work and love teach the princess a lesson and turn her into a loving and kind person.

During the Spanish Civil War in 1936, a group of International Brigadiers are cut off, lacking ammunition and water. Five men, plus a radio operator, are chosen by their commander to remain with him and hold off the enemy, whilst the others retreat. After a brief skirmish, the five men are each given part of a message that will only be decipherable in the event that all five return safely.

Professor Hans Mamlock is the distinguished chief of surgery in a university hospital. The year is 1933, and although the Professor is Jewish, he remains unconcerned with politics and the growing Nazi threat. Mamlock identifies strongly as a German, and he believes his culture to be simply incapable of the common barbarism associated with the Nazi party. The eponymous main character, Robert Liebling, is an attorney and notary, who has his office in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. Sometimes Liebling has several girlfriends simultaneously, which often leads to trouble., and, as a matter of principle, Liebling only takes cases that interest him.

Adam receives a flashlight with special powers: every liar it shines on flies into the air. Production was canceled in 1965 due to the film's political content. Only in 1989/90 could the director reconstruct the film, where missing sounds and images are replaced with script inserts. (imdb)
