A thousand years after the destruction of Earth by gigantic aliens called Gauna, mankind is living on massive spaceships. One of these space ships is Sidonia, which is protected by large pilot-controlled exosuits called Gardes.

Continuing where Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017) left off, Haruo Sakaki continues the fight against Godzilla with help from both his crew mates and newly discovered natives of Earth.

It's summer of 1989 for sixth graders Boco, Joe, and Junichi, their last summer vacation as elementary school students. Brody, son of the commander of the U.S. Forces in Japan, appears before the three of them, stealing their one-year-accumulation of cash. But their conflict is interrupted by attacking monsters.
