It's easy to see why sites recommend this for Downton Abbey fans. It's not as good as DA but it frequently goes in unexpected directions even as it piles on the contrivances meant to generate the conflicts soap operas require. However, it's extremely Woke w/ lots of finger wagging "Look at all this bigotry!" while making all the "good guys" anachronistically accepting. On the positive it MOSTLY - but not only- focuses on 50's anti-Semitism/anti-gay rather than the usual Racism Reminders Class.
