Fake Signs and Mysteries Hidden in Old Books
The owner of “Biblia Koshodo”, Shioriko Shinokawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi), receives Daisuke Itsuura (AKIRA) for an appraisal of his old books. Daisuke brings in a book from his grandmother's collection, “The Complete Works of Soseki Natsume,” which his mother, Eri (Keiko Matsuzaka), had requested him to buy because it was signed “Natsume Soseki” in “Vol. 8: Then and There” and she hoped it would sell for a high price if the signature was genuine. S
Why Did the Culprit Only Steal One Book?
Shioriko Shinogawa (Ayame Goriki) introduced Daisuke Goura (AKIRA) to Hajime Shida (Katsumi Takahashi), a “sedoriya” who was disheartened by the theft of Kiyoshi Koyama's “OCHIBO PICK UP”. Shida did not even greet him and began to talk about the situation when the book was stolen. Before coming to the antiquarian bookstore, Shida had some business to attend to at a temple, so he rode his bicycle there.

A man (Nakamura Shido) comes to Shinogawa Shioriko (Goriki Ayame) and Itsuura Daisuke (Akira), saying he wants to buy a book. In his hand was a book titled “Introduction to Logic” by Vinogradov Kuzmin. The suspicious-looking man, who had written “Masashi SAKAGUCHI” (Masashi SAKAGUCHI) in letters that protruded from the purchase list, left the store, saying he would come back tomorrow.
The Book that was Stolen from a Locked Room
Shioriko Shinogawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi) takes Daisuke Itsuura (AKIRA) to a “home-buyer” who travels to a client's house to buy books. The destination is a mansion called “Tamaoka,” and the client, Satoko Tamaoka (Yohko Moriguchi), wants to dispose of her father's library, which passed away three months ago. The books in the library are mainly pure literature and poetry collections, including a valuable first edition of Nakaya Nakahara's “Songs of Our Times”.

Shioriko Shinokawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi) visited Seizo Jogakkan to donate books. Shioriko is welcomed by Tanabe Misuzu (Ikuta Erika), a member of the library committee. The books are selected by Sugiura (Atsuko Anan), a teacher, and several books are returned because they are “inappropriate for junior high school students.
Being Bullied, by a Strange Man
After being pushed down from the top of a stone staircase by someone, Shinogawa Shioriko (Ayame Tsuyoshi) was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, she only suffered a broken ankle, and Daisuke Goura (AKIRA) is relieved. Meanwhile, Daisuke's face clouded when he heard from Shinokawa Fumiya (Jesse) that it was Fujinami Akio (Suzuki Kosuke) who found Shioriko collapsed and called an ambulance.
Several Truths
Shioriko Shinokawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi) was confronting Kikuya Kasai (Kei Tanaka) on the hospital roof with Osamu Dazai's “Late Years” in her arms. Daisuke Goura (AKIRA) rushes to the scene and tries to come between them, but Kasai has a pair of sharp scissors in his hands. Kasai presses him to hand over “Late Years,” saying that he would not harm the book but would show no mercy to people.
The Real Culprit is at Biblia
Renjo Takino (Shuji Kashiwabara), an antiquarian bookstore owner who has known Shioriko Shinokawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi) since her parents' generation, arrives. Hajime Shida (Katsumi Takahashi) introduces Takino to Daisuke Itsuura (AKIRA) as Shioriko's childhood friend and advisor. Daisuke is envious of Takino, who can read and is useful to Shioriko. Takino, on the other hand, looks at Daisuke coldly for joining Biblia's antiquarian bookstore despite his inability to read.
There is a Raccoon Dog, a Crocodile and a Dog; A Book Like an Illustrated Book
Shioriko Shinogawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi) and Daisuke Goura (Akira) decide to visit an antiquarian bookstore on their regular day off, and one day they come to a bookstore that specializes in photography books. One day, they visit a secondhand bookstore specializing in photography books. While they are looking at photographs at the store, which also has a gallery, Kosaka Akiho (Akiko Yada) asks them if they like photography.
Edogawa Rampo / Young Adults Study Group
Shinogawa Shioriko (Ayame Tsuyoshi) receives a call that she and Daisuke Goura (AKIRA) have a special consultation regarding old books, and they come to the Western-style house where Keiko Raijo (Mio Takagi) lives. Instead of Keiko, who is in a wheelchair, Shioriko and Daisuke are greeted by her sister, Kuniyo (Miyuki Matsuda), who shows them to a storeroom filled with a collection of old books by Edogawa Rampo.
What Rampo Left Behind, a Mistake in the Coded Text?
Convinced that her mother Chieko (Narumi Yasuda) has stolen the key to the safe, Shioriko Shinogawa (Ayame Tsuyoshi) aims to solve the code and obtain the code letters before Chieko does. Later, when Shioriko and Daisuke Goura (AKIRA) return to Biblia's Bookstore, they find Chieko sitting at the counter reading a book. Chieko asks Shiori what she thinks is in the safe.
