The premise is intriguing (and alarmingly plausible - just look at what's happening in China), but the plot is disappointingly predictable and lacks any lasting satiric bite. BDH is solid but deserves better material.

On the extremities of what Heidegger called das Man in the age of anti-social media. No dystopia is less desirable than this one. On the other hand, that's no reason not to give me a star for this review.

BDH is great in this, but it didn't drive home with me like some of the other episodes.

It's a decent premise, but it basically offers few surprises after the world is set up.

A fun hypothesis of what the near future may look like (though I wish this show would get a more adventurous set-designer who would do more than sparse sleek white surfaces). The main character has to act ridiculous to get this parable rolling, which feels like a compromise, though it leads to some interesting futuristic concepts. A fairly good opener for what has been a disappointing season.

Bryce Dalls Howard was brilliant. The story was not. A good ending though.

This one drives the act of ranking things/people and giving them scores to their logical conclusions, which is open fascism. Today, we all experience this implicit essentialism and the dictatorship of well-manners if not as bad as in this episode. Good that there wasn't a catharsis and the leading role continued to be a moron despite her outbursts of rage and rebellion. BM continues to present a very bleak view on the world we live in.

When you describe Black Mirror episodes as 'five minutes into the future', this one would be the closest to becoming a reality. It really is a matter of time until a tripadvisor meets linkedin, keeping everyone in this over-polished state of posturing. In fact it might already be underway.. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-34592186

Fun, cute, funny, predictable as possible. The predictable nature of the episode really hurts it. I kept thinking there would be some huge twist to safe it...but ended up being nothing special.

It's a brilliant premise, but it's been done before (Community S05E08), and Howard and Eve are quite intolerable (as they're meant to be).

A pretty cruel look at social media addiction that forgoes the obvious opportunity to explore liberation in a cathartic manner. As with all addictions, withdrawal is not clean or immediately beneficial.

☆ Yeah super clever concepts. Black Mirror is either super hit or miss for me, but when it hits it really does a good job. Wonderfully done. ☆

Holy shit did they get the phone obsessed culture right, in this episode. All I could think of while watching was "This could really happen" And it's fucking terrifying.

An idea that might strike more fear into sycophantic, Instagram-user types than the likes of myself, the premise here still has potential yet really fails to follow through with it. Way too much time is spent establishing the main character and following her oh-so-predictable journey, all building up to a climax which is just like watching an open mic stand up die on their arse. She's so inherently irritating you couldn't give a shit what happens to her anyway. Not one of the best Black Mirrors.
