As a schoolgirl Nanase Sakura meets Doctor Kairi Tendo via the collapse of a passerby necessitating a medical emergency, and falls in love instantly. She then studies hard to became a nurse and finally meets Kairi Tendo again. But she realises that he has a totally different personality to what she imagined and entering a relationship may be not be as possible as she had dreamed. (imdb)

High school student Nanase Sakura stops to help a woman, and meets a young doctor named Tendo. She decides to become a nurse. Her first day on the job she confesses her love for Tendo, but he rejects her.
Nanase finds out that the woman in Tendo's apartment is his sister. She helps a young heart patient, but after he dies, she collapses. She wakes up in Tendo's place, and he reassures her.
Tendo returns to Sakura's only to find Kisugi. Kisugi leaves urging Sakura to make her move. Sakura perhaps hallucinates Tendo hugging her. She lets this slip at work. Sakura is told that Tendo had a lover who died young.
One of the patients refuses an operation because she wants to go to her daughter's wedding. Sakura convinces the hospital to let her go, and Tendo agrees to take the two of them to the wedding.
Tendo confirms his intention to date Sakura. He asks her to keep it a secret. A nurse asks Tendo not to let Sakura work an operation on her son. They fight, and make up, then he tells everyone that she is his girlfriend.
The sister of Tendo's late girlfriend appears at the hospital looking for a job. Worried, Sakura follows him to Osaka, where they spend the night in a hotel. Back in Tokyo, the sister confesses her love to Tendo, and Kisugi to Sakura.
Sakura meets a young man, Kamijo, who treats her kindly. He shows up in the hospital as her patient. Kamijo tries to steal Sakura away from Tendo, but collapses just before his operation.
Kamijo files a complaint against Tendo, preventing him from working, and then tries to blackmail Sakura into coming with him to Singapore. What will Sakura do?
Tendo shows up in Sakura's hometown, and meets her parents, then brings her back to Tokyo.
Sakura goes with Tendo's sister, and meets her parents. Then she is offered a chance to study abroad. Can she and Tendo live apart for a year? What will they do when she comes back?
