Seiya and Shun continue their trip through hell and they enter the second prison, where they face the legendary Cerberus and the Sphinx specter. They also find a legendary silver saint, Orufe, who tells them his story.
Orufe, Seiya and Shun continue their fight against Sphinx, and then they go directly to Hades home to face the god. Shiryiu and Hyoga join Kanon in their voyage through hell.
Orufe, Seiya and Shun arrive to Hades palace, but their attempt to reach the god is thwarted by the arrival of the three most powerful warriors in hell. Shiryu, Hyoga and Kanon face the guardian of the fourth prison.
Shun's body has been possessed by Hades, Seiya is sent to die in a frozen hell,Shiryiu and Hyoga try to reach the sixth prison and Kanon faces the three judges of hell by himself, until a new ally arrives.

Shun's soul regains control oh his body, and gives Ikki the chance to stop him. Ikki has doubts since attacking would kill both Hades and Shun. The Harpy specter releases Seiya from his frozen tomb to take Athena's armor from him.
Athena appears before Hades, and begs him to stop the eclipse that would end life in earth, after refusing the two gods face each other, while Seiya continues his battle in the frozen hell.

Athena and Hades have vanished to the Elysian Fields and an impenetrable wall prevents the saints from following them. The only way to break it is getting sunlight into hell itself.
