I liked The Millions Game, too.
Much of this movie has been done before, probably dozens of times (though mostly after 1970) but it didn't feel cliched to me. I think one reason is that while the satire is obvious, it doesn't get too heavy with the moralizing.
The host & studio guys are sneaky & dishonest, but they're not cartoonishly evil or even unusually clever. We're on the "hero"'s side, but he's clearly a bit of a dweeb (it helps that he looks a bit like Steve Coogan) and doesn't give us anything to admire in terms of his character, intelligence or physical abilities. The Köhlers seem like they must certainly be morally deficient to be in their line of work, but again, they don't seem particularly happy to be doing it; they seem more like ordinary working-class types just trying to scrape by. When they're sheepishly accepting their (partial) payment when Lotz survives, I almost feel sorry for them. The "samaritans" are morally ambiguous, too, and Lotz's mom seems worried enough to be human, but not enough to make our emotions swell up.
Also, I want those body suit dancers to do a routine at my funeral.
I gave it 65 (T6)
