gold coin movie..help

Trying to find a movie but don't remember too much. I watched this in the 1990s. Its a little girl ad her father. the litle irl loves horses but I don't remember much else with the horses they lived in log house. I remember the movie ending with the child sittng by a giant crater with a gold coin they found I guess in the crater.
