80s/90s Movie
The Movie is about a up a coming director who is trying to get financing for a black and white movie from studios. He is obsessed with the romance of the silver screen era. Unfortunately I dont remember any of the actors in this movie. I do remember he has a wife at home and the he finally get the funding for the movie. I have been trying to figure out the name of this movie for many years.

It's not an even fit but the first film that came to mind was Joe Dante's Matinee (1993).
