I've seen Secret, Boonmee and My Son, Dogtooth is currently sitting at home waiting for me. Most of the others are on my list.

It's refreshing to have clicked through to a post of this kind that doesn't just tell me I need to say all the same highest-grossing movies that blog lists usually do, and your friend deserves credit for that. I was aware of most of these films (though I've only actually seen a couple of them) but any endorsement of Wild Grass is praise-worthy. Haven't heard much of either Animal Kingdom or The Misfortunates but I think I'll probably wish list them now.

Also, I thought the short (A Letter to Uncle Boonmee) that preceded Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives was pretty swell, so I definitely look forward to seeing the actual feature film.

Had my problems with the list, though it is a pretty out there choices so guess its interesting to see something a tad different from the normal.

Also, I can't stand any recommendation for Animal Kingdom. I have a ridiculous amount of problems with it.

My version (films commercially released in the US for the first time in 2010, popularity filtered to "known, obscure, very obscure"):

1. Everyone Else (2009)
2. Hadewijch (2009)
3. October Country (2009)
4. Harlan: In the Shadow of Jew Suss (2008)
5. The Girl on the Train (2009)
6. Fair Game (2010)
7. The Father of My Children (2009)
8. Alamar (2009)
9. Mademoiselle Chambon (2009)
10. Sweetgrass (2009)
