Aleka Stratigou

A rivalry between two families forces the remaining descendants to kill each other. Stelios Kondogiorgis (Iliopoulos) is a timid tailor whom his uncle (Zervos) approaches in order to murder their rival. Meanwhile, the reserved Thomas Makrykostas (Hajihristos) has the duty to slaughter Stelios. But neither Stelios nor Thomas want to kill each other. At the same time, they 've never met and they have the impression that the other person really wants to kill them.

At the main square of a Greek island there are two tavernas, Aspasia's and Anargyros'. The owners quarrel constantly, but their relationship turns to absolute war when they both decide to become mayors. During the election campaign they promise whatever comes to their mind. The war comes to an abrupt end, when Aspasia's daughter who is in love with Anargyros' son stages her suicide and as a result her mother withdraws from politics.

During a train trip a naive man from a village, decides to help a young girl that wants to commit suicide, pretending that he is her husband, so that her strict father, who works in the army, pardons her.

Thomas is a good but low intelligence man. He is in love with Urania, a widow, whose stingy husband Sotiris is over a year dead, as the ship he was sailing in, sunk. When Sotiris appears, explaining that he was hiding so as to get the life insurance money, Urania, who already has a love affair, convinces Thomas to murder him, pretending she is in love with him. Thomas indeed tries unsuccessfully. Everything is revealed, a trial ensues, where Thomas admits that he is 'an imbecile and a half'.

Young Jenny (Mirka Kalatzopoulou) has a taste for older men, so Alekos (Giorgos Panjas) pretends the 40-year-old to make her fall for him.
