Raju (Jagadish), who comes to the city in search of a job, woos Shyama (Sunitha) with the help of his old friend Williams (Siddique), & in the process Williams also fall in love with Shyama's friend Mercy (Suchitra). Later, Raju & Williams, who start a video store business, cover a political function, where they accidentally tape someone explode a bomb which kills the Chief Minister. This lands them in trouble, & they go on the run, with both the bad guys & the cops after them, wanting the tape.
Balakrishnan (Mohanlal), a jobless graduate, comes to the forest of Koolankolli with this best friend elephant Vinayan, for hauling timber. There, he teams up with a Forest Ranger Sunny Varghese (Mukesh) & a caseworker Jose (Babu Nampoothiri), to stop the illegal cannabis cultivation & sandalwood thefts of Madathil Raghava Panicker (Thilakan) & his son (Suresh Gopi). He also gets close to Sreedevi (Karthika), Panicker's niece, whom Panicker wanted for his son to marry to get hold of her wealth.
Madhavan Nair (Thilakan), a cabby, & his wife Bharathi (Kaviyoor Ponnamma), have 4 children - Prasad (Manian Pillai Raju), Santhosh (Baiju), Urmila (Renuka) & Geetha (Urvashi). Being forced out of their rented house by their landlord Kikkili (Meena), Madhavan is forced to buy some land & build a house of their own. However, at the time of their need, all their ungrateful children & their spouses, except for Geetha, turn their backs on Madhavan & Bharathi, leaving them to fend for their own.
Injakkadan Mathai (Innocent) & sons Thankachan (Suresh Gopi) & Roy (Jagadish) run a gainful cloth shop while a rival store run by the Chungathara family is at a loss, much to the latter's ire. After Thankachan weds Beena (Saranya), daughter of an old pal of Mathai, Thommichan, Chungathara misleads David (Rajan P. Dev), Beena's uncle, into thinking that Mathai had killed Thommichan. Hearing this, Beena's sister Shirley (Urvashi) moves in with Mathai's family, to take revenge for her dad's murder.
Parthasarathy aka Parthan (Jayaram), a do-gooder, is at constant conflict with his rich uncle, the Panchayat President & village temple secretary Parakkottu Phalgunan Thampi (Jagathi). With his daughter Satyabhama's (Sreedevika) help, Thampi frames & jails Parthan. After his release, after a near-death incident, Parthan develops ESP & also befriends Lord Krishna in the form of Madhavan (Mukesh). Together, they foil radical Musafir's (Kalabhavan Mani) plans to destroy the village temple heritage.
Nandagopal (Mammootty), a high-ranking & rich IAS officer, pampers & raises his epileptic sister Ammu, resulting in her being short-tempered & spoilt. Nandan marries Gauri (Shobana) on condition that Gauri's younger brother Venu (Dileep) marries Ammu, without disclosing Ammu's condition. Although Venu learns of it, it was too late. After the marriage, Ammu finds it tough to adjust to Venu's environment, complicated by the fact that Nandan still catered to Ammu's whims & continued to pamper her.
Vishnu Narayanan (Jayaram) of the Ponnumadam family gets stuck with a baby elephant left to him by his recently demised long-lost uncle. However, when the elephant wins a race, Vishnu gets a chance to get Kalyani (Mohini), heiress of the Thirumangalam family, as his bride. When Vishnu learns that the person to whom some temple jewels which he had stolen & pawned with, was Kalyani's debilitated father, he decides to stay on at Thirumangalam to revive Kalyani's father, to get the jewels back.
Gauridasan (Mukesh), son of Brahmadattan (Rizabawa) of the Suryamangalam family, who was ousted by uncle Surya (Babu Nampoothiri) when he was a kid, returns to Suryamangalam without revealing his identity, to drive away a spirit which was bothering the family. When Gauridasan had to go to the land of Brahmadesham, where the spirit was bound years ago by his father, to defeat it, the spirit assumes the form of pretty Seemanthini (Geethu Mohandas) & gets close to him, with the aim of killing him.
Ramankutty (Jayaram), known for his spotless character in the village of Kuttanallur, gets disgraced & ostracized when he had to take on the blame for frequenting a known prostitute of the village, Dakshayani (Nirosha), to save his uncle Madhavan's (Jagathi Sreekumar) face. Madhavan, who had promised to clear Ramankutty's name in front of his daughter & Ramankutty's fiancé Sangeetha (Gayatri Jayaraman), goes back on his word, leaving Ramankutty on his own to clear his name.
Businessman & head of the Himalayan group of companies, Mukundan Menon (Murali) gets framed for stealing money from his company, causing his daughter Nandana (Roja) to beseech the help of hotshot lawyer Sarathchandran (Suresh Gopi) to vindicate Menon. Sarathchandran, with the help of Deputy Commissioner of Police Alexander N. Koshy (Devan), traces Menon's case back to politicos Bhuvaneshwar Tripathi & S. Krishnadas (Ratheesh), who had plans to tip the current Indian government & start their own.
James (James), an impoverished youth, escapes from Kerala after faking his death & comes to Kodaikanal to take up the post of a music teacher at the Hill Valley Public School where his slaphappy ways gall the martinet school manager-owner Maya Johns (Anusha). However, after some initial spats, they get attracted to each other, but Maya's relatives oppose the relationship. James, meanwhile, has his own tragic secret to hide beneath his cheerful self.
Impoverished & jobless young men, Unnikrishnan (Jagadish) & Dasan (Baiju), frees a friendly spirit Chathunni (Innocent) from capture by mistake, who becomes their friend. With Chathunni's help, Unnikrishnan gets back at his evil step-mother Pankajam (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) & tries to win his girlfriend Maya (Mathu), whose father cop Rajagopal (K.P.A.C. Sunny), planned to marry her off to a family friend's son, Vikraman (Shammi Thilakan).
60 years after a lass of the Aalathoor Thekkemadam manor, Kuttimani (Kumari Joemol), was putatively killed by her jealous lover Krishnanunni (Kunchako Boban), & after which he was hanged, the current patriarch, Valiyathan (Thilakan), looks to restart a defunct religious rite. However, things get edgy after it started to seem like the old lovers have reincarnated as Gayathri (Kumari Joemol), a young girl of the current generation & Manu (Kunchako Boban), the caretaker's son, & they fall in love.
In a remote mountainous village, Thamara (Shweta Menon), a pretty woman, is forced to marry the ugly, dumb Choonda (Manoj K. Jayan), but Thamara could never bring herself around to like him. Choonda dies in mysterious circumstances, after which Thamara takes a fancy to Choonda's handsome younger brother Saji (Bala). Saji however was in love with Muthu (Aparna Nair), causing for Thamara to plot to eliminate Muthu from the picture.
Uthaman (Jayaram), an orphan, makes a living by doing odd jobs around the local police station & for the cops & their families. After some initial spats, Uthaman strikes a bond with the new Sub Inspector Jayaraj (Siddique) & his mother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma). Jayaraj accidentally kills Alexy (Meghanadhan), a local bigwig who was tyrannizing the village, & Uthaman accepts the responsibility for the crime to save Jayaraj. Alexy's brother Sunny (Babu Antony) arrives in town to avenge Alexy.
The Mannadiyar brothers - Gajendran (Innocent), Veerendran (Cochin Hanifa) & Narendran (Subair) - ruled large over the land of Mannadipuram, & dotted over their little sister Aarcha (Kanaka). Into this walks in lawyer Sethuraman (Mukesh), who was Aarcha's lawfully wedded husband from college, & whom she had given the slip the night of the wedding. Sethuraman becomes their family lawyer & plots to bring down to earth, Aarcha, who had become arrogant over the power she wielded over her brothers.
Sudheendran aka Sudhi (Jayaram), struggling to feed an extended family, faces eviction from his own house after his patrilateral ortho-cousins, lead by Vijayan (Siddique), claim the house was theirs, on top of the constant bullying from them. Meanwhile, Sathi (Samvrutha Sunil), his childhood sweetheart & now a doctor, returns from Delhi to set up a hospital there. Sudhi harbors feelings for Sathi, but his hopes are dashed when Sathi gets engaged to Sudhi's cousin Vinayan (Madhu Warrier) instead.
Famed singer Subadra Thampuratti (Srividya) & her estranged husband R.K. Nair (Thilakan) have been in a custody battle over their daughters Sangeetha (Rasika) & Manasi (Sneha). Nair hires a street artist Charlie (Kunchacko Boban) to infiltrate Subadra's household as a music pupil to have an inside man there. Contrary to Nair's plans though, Charlie & Manasi fall in love. Pining for Charlie outside was his childhood friend, the blind Uma (Sujitha), for whose treatment he had agreed to this act.
