Antony Eastman

Kuttikrishnan (Shankar), the only son of martinet single mother Amminiyamma (K.P.A.C. Lalitha), gets attracted to Devayani (Menaka), daughter of poor lineman Pappan (Thilakan). Amminiyamma agrees to the marriage on condition that Devayani's family give 35 sovereigns in gold as dowry. As per Kuttikrishnan's grandfather's (Nedumudi) advice, Pappan & family borrows the gold & conducts the wedding. However, plans for returning the gold is foiled when Amminiyamma puts the gold under lock & key.

2 pretty but mentally ill girls, Rekha (Lizy) & Geetha, escape from an asylum & end up with 2 middle-aged men, Vishwanatha Panicker (Gopi) & Omanakuttan Nair (Thilakan), who were out for a day away from their own dull lives. Together they go on an adventure, but later the men have to leave the girls with their misogynist friend Shaktidharan Nair (Karamana). Initially unfriendly towards the girls, Shaktidharan too soon takes a fancy to them. Meanwhile, the cops were out looking for the girls.
