Over the period that he lives in Dubai and in Kerala, Dr Arjun's life gets completely intertwined by the three women who enter his life. Following the disclosure of a corruption scandal involving a major communist leader Kaitheri Sahadevan (Hareesh Peradi), by 2 renegade journos Aliyar (Sudheer Karamana) & Suresh (Sreejith Ravi), veteran activist Roy Joseph (V.G. Muralikrishnan) tries to manage the fallout. In a related side story, corrupt cop P.K. Jayan (Indrajith) commits a murder for the girl of his dreams, Jennifer Kuruvila (Ramya Nambeeshan), only to be snubbed by her as she seeks to leave the country for a better life.

Tourist guide & houseboat owner Chakkattutharayil Gopan (Kunchacko Boban) struggles to feed his family, including his mother (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) & 3 elder brothers - Mani, Suku & Vijayan (Irshad, Shiju & Joju George). He is in love with classical dancer Kainakari Jayasree (Namitha Pramod), the entertainer on his boat. Gopan's life takes a turn as a casual remark by him lands his rival Kuraichan (Shammi Thilakan) in hot water & ruins his family life. An angry Kuriachan seeks revenge on Gopan.

'Vedi Vazhipadu' depicts the events in a time frame of 24 hours on the Pongala festival day at the Attukal Temple. 3 friends, bank cashier Sanjay (Saiju Kurup), investor Pradeep (Sreejith Ravi) & video game tester Rahul (Murali Gopy), have made secret plans for the day when their wives will be away at the festival. On the said day, the friends gather in Rahul's apartment. They have booze & a prostitute, Sumithra (Anumol), & plan to enjoy themselves. However, things don't go as planned.

Barely a year after eloping to Mumbai & getting married, photographer Jeevan Paul (Anoop Menon) & restaurateur Sarah Thomas (Bhavana) can't stand each other & is on the edge of divorce. Forced by law to spend 6 more months with each other, they continue their warring existence, only to be forced to put on an act as the perfect husband & wife when their friends from Kerala decide to visit them.

Four strangers - jewelry salesgirl Teena (Aparna Nair), insurance agent Veermani (Jayasurya), photographer Firoz (Vinay Forrt) & petty criminal Thampi (Vinayakan) - are involved in a stabbing incident inside an elevator, which leaves Thampi dead, Veermani & Firoz hospitalized & Teena arrested for murder, as the cops try to unravel what happened.

Chandramohan (Dileep), a government employee frustrated with his nagging wife's Sushama's (Anusree) constant phone calls to check on his whereabouts, falls for a tale from an astrologer about him being the reincarnation of Tamil poet Vel Kozhu Kottuvan (Dileep), & that he is fated to unite with his lover, dancer Vasanthamallika (Namitha Pramod), one from whom he was separated in a previous life. This leads Chandramohan to chase dancer Geethanjali (Namitha Pramod), but Sushama finds out about it.

Soft-natured Mahesh Bhavana (Fahadh Faasil), a photographer who runs a studio in Idukki, gets humiliated & vows revenge after a local tough guy, Jimson (Sujith Sankar), beats him up in public. His long-time girlfriend, Soumya (Anusree), also dumps him during this time & gets married to a guy settled in Canada. Forced to put his revenge on the back burner when Jimson goes to Dubai to work, Mahesh meets & falls in love with Jimsy (Aparna Balamurali), not knowing that she was Jimson's sister.

Shubha (Bhama) always dreamt of marrying someone based in the US, but she is tricked into marrying Vinayan (Indrajith) who was based in Kenya. Shubha is tricked to move to Kenya, but after an initial outburst, she reconciles with Vinayan & settles into a happy life. However, soon afterwards, they both get embroiled in a mess where they are forced to kill a tribal leader's son in self-defense & go on the run from the tribals & from an internal criminal called Anton Kulasingham (Murali Gopy).

Jayaraman (Mohanlal), a blind man, tries to protect a young girl, Nandini (Meenakshi), from Vasu (Samuthirakani), a psychopath out to kill her for seeking revenge against her father Krishnamoorthy (Nedumudi Venu), whom he had already murdered.

Ayyappa Das (Rudraksh Sudheesh) is a small-village boy whose biggest dream in life is to fly in an airplane. After hearing the village do-gooder Kochavva (Kunchacko Boban) speak about competitive swimmers being able to attend international tournaments in an airplane, Ayyappa takes up swimming & gets very good at it. Seeing his potential, Kochavva, who was also Ayyappa's coach, tries to get him enrolled in a prestigious swimming training program happening abroad.

Alby Mathew (Vineeth Sreenivasan), an aspiring movie maker, get embroiled in a potential crime, when he believes he murdered his neighbor Sudhi Ramachandran (Vijay Babu).
