Two scientists are chosen as guinea pigs to be put into hibernation for three years. During that time, however, World War III occurs. When they wake up, not only has 50 years passed, but they are also the only living males in a new, underground society composed exclusively of women.

A comedy. The story follows a young scientist in the contemporaryworld, who actually came from the world of dwarves, thanks to a magic potion, held by the Big Eater, ruler of the dwarves. The dwarf kingdom, Shuflandia, exists in a cellar of a library, and only the most obedient get the chance to grow to king size and inhabit the larger world. A wealthy businessman falls in love with a young lady, and tries to win her with money

"The Dancing Hawk" refers to the son of a peasant who senses he can climb to the job in troubled times by playing his cards right. His slavery to work match his ambitions, and gradually he reaches the social position he desires. But the costs have included a dehumanized soul and a loss of a moral conscience. Polskie drogi means Polish road, but can also be translated as polish fates. The series starts in september 1939, during the German invasion of Poland. It shows different reactions of polish people to this and to the later occupation. Some are resisting, some try to accomodate, some try to live as if nothing happened. The series is good, the music is very good.

The movie is set in Belarus, where a team of counter-intelligence officers is given only three days to find a German radio operator posing as a Soviet soldier, behind soviet lines, on the eve of a major offensive. (imdb)
