The Anti-Terrorist Cell of the Kerala Police is led by the vibrant and daring Baba Kalyani (Mohanlal). When an e-mail is received that an attempt would be made to assassinate a VIP visiting the state, Baba Kalyani and his team sets out on a hunt. Though the e-mail proves to be a hoax, the group gets a hunch that some terrorist activity is being planned in the State, and that a group of terrorists has moved to Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram. Devan (Jayaram), a meek, honest farmer and the village darling, gets into trouble with the local hoodlum, Ripper (Riyaz Khan), and runs away to Pollachi with his friend Dasan (Jagathi) in tow. There he meets his look-alike Pazhani (Jayaram), who is the exact opposite of Devan in character. Upon persuasion from Dasan, Palani and Devan agree to switch places, and various comic and chaotic situations ensue.
Mohanachandran (Jayaram), although a lawyer by profession, does all sorts of odd jobs to support his large-sized family. He is engaged to marry Sujatha (Sukanya), a local school teacher. Devaprabha (Manju Warrier) and her grandfather Ramavarma Thampuran (Babu Swamy), of the royal bloodline and who has a mansion in the same village, comes for a short visit. Devaprabha, who has been mentally ill after her brother's death, finds solace in Mohanachandran, which troubles his fiancée Sujatha.
Shyam Balagopal (Prithviraj) has been kicked out from almost all colleges he attended, including the last one & his mom, who is a lecturer in an all-women college, attributes all that to the bad company he keeps. Desperate to change her son, she coaxes her principal to grant her son admission to her college. This comes as a shock to some of the female students of the college who vows to drive Shyam out of the college by hook or crook. A tug of war ensues between them and Shyam.
Kunhikuttan (Mohanlal), a renowned but low caste Kathakali artist, struggles to come to terms with his unhappy marriage & the rejection of his upper caste father who disapproved of him. However, upsetting his plans, when Ajayan cheats Arjunan Pillai out of his ancestral home, & leaves him broke, his son-in-laws come to his rescue.
S.P. Siddharth Mahadev (Suresh Gopi), assisted by C.I. Aravind (Krishnakumar), investigates the murder of a retired senior police officer Sathar (Rizabawa). He is later summoned by his former boss, Nambiar (Rajan P. Dev) to help find his missing daughter Meera Nambiar (Honey Rose). Nambiar also ends up killed soon after. Siddharth lands 2 suspects in Meera's case - an orphan Rahul Krishna (Bala) & an innkeeper Sankaranarayanan (Murali), but they give totally opposite accounts of what happened.

Munna is torn between the two families, & tries to reunite with Laila, with the help of two homeless litter-gatherers - Kannas (Innocent) & Kadalaas (Jagathi Sreekumar).
Josekutty (Prithviraj), an auto rickshaw driver & the sole support of a struggling family, agrees to marry a wealthy single mother of the Mekloth family, Nancy (Kaveri), mistaking her to be the girl he was secretly attracted to (Kavya Madhavan). His friend, Paappikunju (Harisree Asokan), also cook up a lie that Josekutty is the father of the child, to make his family agree to the marriage. However, Nancy commits suicide the day before the wedding, now Josekutty has to accept & rear the toddler.
Jayakanthan aka Jayan (Kunchako), whose father had eloped 25 years ago with his mother from the village of Paruthippara, comes back to claim compensation for his father's land which was acquired by the Government for building an airport. Bhargavan (Sreenivasan), an usurer who had illegally acquired that land, tells Balakrishnan Nambiar (Janardanan), Jayan's uncle, that Jayan had come to destroy the family's ancestral home. Balakrishnan, believing this, tries to drive Jayan away from the village.
Kunjan (Dileep), a humpback, meets a blind girl Chembakam (Navya Nair), whom he cares for after her father's death in an accident & also pays for a surgery to regain her eyesight. Prasad (Dileep) is a college student who is mourning over the loss of his girlfriend who died in an accident during a rape attempt, by the hands of Vasu (Saikumar). When he learns that his girlfriend had donated her eyes & those were given to Chembakam, he starts obsessing about Chembakam's eyes & begins stalking her.
Arjun (Dileep), trying to raise money to treat his crippled brother, joins BCM college & hopes to compete in the South Zone athletic meet & win the prize money, to be able to do that. Gowri (Gajala) & her elder brother Rahul (Madhu Warrier) also studies there. After an initial spat, Gowri takes a fancy to Arjun, angering Tinu (Riyaz Khan) who had an eye on Gowri. Tinu misleads Rahul against Arjun, which pits both of them against each other in the meet, with Gowri torn between Rahul & Arjun.
Ajith Thomas (Dileep), a TV reporter, when he finds the dead body of a man whom he happened to capture on camera a few days ago, broadcasts the image of the woman who was on camera with him, thus finding Krishna Priya (Meera Jasmine), his widow. Soon, Ajith finds that Krishna Priya is being hunted by a group of criminals running a huge sex racket, & that Krishna Priya's dead husband Hari Kumar (Indrajith), was also part of it. Ajith tries to protect Krishna from them, but jeopardizing himself.
Industrialist & owner of Raja Varma College in Bangalore, Prathapa Varma's (Thilakan) grandson Manu Varma (Sanjay Mitra) comes to study there. In Bangalore, he meets Anamika aka Anu, sister of Seychelles based hotelier Chandran (Sarathbabu). After some initial tiffs, Manu & Anu fall in love, but Chandran opposes their relationship since he had a bitter experience with his another sister Leena (Rekha) walking out on him. Chandran takes away Anu to Seychelles & Manu follows suit to get Anu back.
Raju (Suraj), Cheri (Ramesh Pisharody), Winnie (Vani Kishore) & Udayan (Manikuttan) are close pals & have a music band. Raju meets & falls in love with Jyothi (Ayilya), who later strangely disappears. When a murder happens in the apartment next to Winnie, Raju is shocked to find that the wife of the deceased was Jyothi. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Aniyan (Jayasurya), & his senior, Police Commissioner (Saikumar) investigates the murder & Raju is the prime suspect in the Commissioner's eyes.
Injakkadan Mathai (Innocent) & sons Thankachan (Suresh Gopi) & Roy (Jagadish) run a gainful cloth shop while a rival store run by the Chungathara family is at a loss, much to the latter's ire. After Thankachan weds Beena (Saranya), daughter of an old pal of Mathai, Thommichan, Chungathara misleads David (Rajan P. Dev), Beena's uncle, into thinking that Mathai had killed Thommichan. Hearing this, Beena's sister Shirley (Urvashi) moves in with Mathai's family, to take revenge for her dad's murder.
Vishwanathan (Sreenivasan), an incorrupt village officer, is obsessed with making his son Manu (Vineeth Sreenivasan) an Engineer, sends him to a coaching center & always pressures him about it. Manu has no interest in being an Engineer & his mother Rema (Suhasini) is torn between the two men. When Manu doesn't pass the entrance test for the 3rd time in a row, father & son get into an argument after which Manu leaves home. Later, a drunk Vishwanathan goes missing, & is found, brutally beaten.
Padmanabhan Nair (Kalamandalam Kesavan), is the patriarch of the big joint family of Payyarath, where the old matrilinear system of inheritance is still practiced. Into this walks Nair's by-blow & helper Shankunni's nephew, Ramanathan (Jayaram), the son Nair never knew about. Ramanathan forges a deep friendship with Nair & joins Payyarath as a manager. But when later, Nair refuses to publicly accept Ramanathan even after learning the truth, a determined Ramanathan vows to make Nair accept him.
Munshi Parameswaran Pillai (Oduvil) leads a simple life in his house, 'Shanti Nilayam', along with his sons Nandakumar (Innocent), Krishnakumar (Hanifa), Gopakumar (Jagathi), their wives Kausalya (K.P.A.C. Lalitha), Anandavalli (Kalaranjini), Indumathi (Bindu Panikkar) & their kids. Into this walks famous actress Yamuna Rani (Nagma) who rents the house next to them for staying during a shoot. Ravindranath (Mammootty), living with his Hindi-speaking wife Seetha (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) & two daughters in Bhilai, had left home for 18 years. When his coworker Hameed (Vishnuprakash) dies in an accident at the steel plant, Ravi & family finally comes to Kerala, accompanying Hameed's body. Reaching home, what Ravi saw was his hapless mother Lakshmi (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) surrounded by greedy & selfish family members. Not willing to let his family go to ruins, Ravi tries to set things straight.
Radha (Manju Warrier) lived in Padmini's (Bindu Panikkar) house more as a family member than a maid. Ignoring Divakaran (Manoj K. Jayan), her cousin who cared for her & wished to marry her, she falls in love with Sasikumar (Dileep), a carpenter cum singer who went by the name of "Junior Yesudas". When Padmini's husband Chandran Nair (N.F. Varghese) made passes towards Radha, Padmini sends Radha back with Divakaran. However, Radha now insists on marrying Sasikumar, putting Divakaran in a dilemma.
Self-made businessman Balachandran (Mammootty) falls in love with & marries Nirmala (Sukanya). Soon after, his financing company & hotel is threatened when he locks horns with an influential person, K. K. Nair (Johny), for attempting to use his hotel for prostitution. Faced with a rush of investors trying to withdraw their money, Balachandran has to sell all his assets to repay them. He takes to drinking, resulting in Nirmala leaving him. A dejected Balachandran takes recourse in spirituality.
Ananthan Thampi, an aspirant bodybuilder sworn to celibacy, gets trapped in a marriage with Ganga (Meena), after he thinks the marriage is just a drama & believes his cohorts Rajappan (Jagadish) & Varadappan's (Premkumar) words that Ganga was really in love with Aravindan (Vijayakumar) & that Thampi would just be keeping Ganga safe till Aravindan returns. Royal Circus, in which Babu (Dileep) was a clown, was a family affair in which most people had grown up with the circus, including Babu. Sudhakaran (Nishanth Sagar), who comes along to save the circus from bankruptcy, introduces various reforms & revamps the circus, but had his eye on the owner's (T.S. Raju) daughter Kamala (Manya), whom Babu had hoped to marry. Not to displease Sudhakaran & dazzled by the new-found wealth, the owner also favors Sudhakaran over Babu, breaking Babu's heart.

A friendly spirit escapes from evil wizard Satyatheerthan (Ramaraj) & ends up in a circus camp, with Krishnan (Innocent), Sisupalan (Suraaj Venjarammoodu) & a bunch of orphan kids who lived there as pariahs, after Krishnan's adopted son Jimmy (Mammootty) was jailed for having killed the circus owner Philippose Thomas (Janardanan). The spirit, who was set free by the kids, takes Jimmy's form & helps them to get Jimmy out on parole. Jimmy takes the help of the spirit to prove his innocence.
Padmanabhan (Nedumudi Venu) & Devaki (K.P.A.C. Lalitha), gets back their long-lost son Unni (Dileep) after 17 years, but is saddened to find that he was mentally ill. Unni's childhood friend Ammu (Kavya Madhavan) nurses Unni & agrees to marry him, but the decision upsets Gopikuttan (Nishanth Sagar), Ammu's cousin who wanted to marry her. Meanwhile, an accident brings back Unni's memory, & he reveals that he is actually Vishnu, son of criminal Maheswaran Thampi (B. Thyagarajan), from Bangalore.
Sudhakaran Nair (Mammootty), an ex-serviceman with a slight gimp & who was in his late 30s, & a young girl in her late teens from the affluent Mullackal family, Indu (Kaveri), fall in love with each other, but faces stiff opposition from their families, because of the disparities between their ages & social ranks.
The two prominent families in town, that of Pareil Pappu's (Janardanan) & that of Mampalli Chackappan's (V.K. Sriraman), were always at loggerheads, with most conversations resulting in fisticuffs. Pappu's dreaded nephew Antony (Suresh Gopi) poses a constant headache for Chackappan, but Chackappan's daughter Nimmy (Divya Unni) & Antony fall in love. Chackappan & Pappu forget their differences & unite, but soon after, Pappu is shot dead by a mysterious sniper & Antony sets out to find the killer.
Anaparambil Bhoominathan (Ramesh Pisharody), a passport office employee, who has to give half his salary every month to a mysterious stranger, per the will from his late father, struggles to make ends meet. Finally, he decides to quit his job & start a resort, but his plans are foiled when an ancient yacht is dug up in the land he bought for the resort. Govt officials from the Archeology department descend on the plot & takes it off his hands, leaving Bhoominathan strapped for cash.
Bubbly Nimisha (Jyothika) arrives for the wedding of her long time Brahmin friend Sreeni (Jayaram), only to realize halfway through the 7-day long festivities that she was really in love with Sreeni & couldn't stand losing him. Meanwhile, the bride-to-be Abhirami (Geethu Mohandas), also shared a similar pain, as she was forced into agreeing for the wedding with Sreeni, even though she was in love with Ambi (Indrajith), her musician father Nellai Ramaswamy's (Oduvil Unnikrishnan) favorite pupil.
Mahadevan (Jayaram), a contest junkie, gets lucky when he wins a new car in a contest, but soon his luck turns sour when a crook goes on the loose, in a car of the same make, color & license plate, & the blame for his actions fall on Mahadevan. Maya (Sree Lakshmy), Mahadevan's object of attraction, turns out to be the miscreant's target while Mahadevan & his crony Kumar (Janardanan) go on the run from goofball cops Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) & 'Idiyan' Vikraman (Indrans), who were out to get him.
Conservative minded Police Commissioner Sanjeevan (Jayaram) marries DGP Rajasekharan Nair's (Narendra Prasad) headstrong & spoilt daughter Geethu (Abhirami) in an arranged marriage. From day one, Geethu accuses Sanjeevan of being overly affectionate towards his younger sisters, Savitri (Seena Antony) & Sangeeta, & tries to force them apart from Sanjeevan. This sparks off a power struggle between Sanjeevan & Geethu, with each trying to humble the other, causing discords in their marriage.
Kochu Kunju (Prithviraj), the black sheep of the affluent Vadakkan Vettil family, who made his fame & fortune in the Dubai underworld, returns to Kerala & acts goofy in front of his uncles & cousins by spending his days fistfighting & drinking. His ulterior aim - to get his father Daveed Lopes (Saikumar), whom years ago Kochu Kunju's uncles had plotted to kill, but escaped, back into the household & to end his mother Katrina's (Ambika) suffering.
Surya (Prithviraj) falls in love City Police Commissioner Rajendra Babu's (Siddique) daughter Ashwathy (Shriya), but Rajendra Babu had his own plans to marry Ashwathy off to Maheendran (Riyaz Khan), the state Home Minister's son, to further advance his police career. Rajendra Babu frames Surya in a fabricated drug case & gets him arrested, causing Surya's father, ex-teacher Madhavan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), to go looking for his long-gone, elder estranged son Raja (Mammootty), to save the day.
Jennifer (Meera Jasmine), whose whole Jewish family depended on her to marry someone from Israel, to emigrate there, has to stifle her feelings for Sachidanandan (Dileep), son of late renowned musician Raveendranath (Murali), to fulfill her family's wishes. As the day for her to leave for Israel & get married draws near, she plays matchmaker to hook Sachidanandan up with her new found best friend, Pooja (Navya Nair), who was in town from Mumbai.
Gopi (Dileep) falls in love with his neighbor Anjali (Manju Warrier), & Anjali reciprocates, but later decides to sacrifice her love because of her still unmarried elder sisters, mute Ashwathy (Mohini) & Aarti (Chippy). Learning of her reasoning, Gopi takes it upon himself to get Ashwathy & Aarti married off, so that he & Anjali could marry. However, the sisters' abusive half-brother Raghu (Meghanadhan) poses a threat to Gopi's plans.
Bus owner & conductor Zakir Hussain (Mammootty) gets into a mess when his nephew Najeeb's (Jayasurya) pregnant girlfriend Sugandhi (Bhavana) shows up, after she leaves her own home for good to be with Najeeb. With Najeeb away in Dubai for work & Zakir's own sister Celina's (Mamtha Mohandas) wedding around the corner, Zakir tries to hide Sugandhi till Najeeb got back, with disastrous results.
Appukuttan, a simpleton, after getting repeatedly snubbed by girls & constantly being told by everyone that he lacks glamor, travels to Mumbai to undergo plastic surgery & get a new face. But after coming home, the new Appukuttan (Jagathi Sreekumar) finds that his family & friends are under the impression that he is dead & refuse to believe that he is Appukuttan. And to add to his misery, his brother-in-laws & sisters were scheming to usurp the family wealth for themselves.
Overly superstitious school teacher Sadanandan's (Dileep) world is shattered after charlatan astrologer Mannunnikkavu Krishnanunni (Jagathi Sreekumar) "predicts" his death in a little over a month. Scrambling to secure his wife Sumangala's (Kavya Madhavan) & their daughter's futures, Sadanandan, & later Sumangala too after she learns of the "prediction", count their days with heavy hearts.
In the pre-independence Brahmin community in rural Kerala, Unni Maya (Mohini), a 17 year old is married off to a 64 year old man, who dies soon after, leaving her to lead a life of confinement & ostracism. She gets a ray of hope in the form of Madhavan (Vineeth), a Kathakali artiste, who woos her, but later refuses to accept her out of fear for being banished from the community himself, after she becomes pregnant from their relationship. A trial involving the community elders gets underway.
The patriarch of the Meledathu family, farmer Raghavan Nair (Mammootty), starts seeing discords in his joint family, after his educated lawyer younger brother Vijayan (Siddique) marries a rich girl to consolidate his social status, despite Raghavan's protests. Vijayan's self-willed & chesty bride, Shobha (Ilavarasi), wrecks havoc in the household, driving up tempers & fraying relationships, which results in Raghavan & his family leaving the house.
Bachelor businessman Narendranatha Kurup (Jayaram) gets tired of his tight schedules & gilded lifestyle & takes a break to the country where he befriends Velu Kurup's (Oduvil Unnikrishnan) family & falls in love with Velu's daughter Meera (Meena). Later they marry & Narendran makes the mistake of inviting his in-laws over to stay with him. His boisterous relatives soon get on his nerves, causing for him to kick them out, but Meera too leaves with them. Narendran follows suit to get Meera back.
After a few years after his wife Sumitra's death by falling off a train, rich businessman Balachandran (Suresh Gopi) marries Seethalakshmi (Sriranjini) & brings her to his mansion & tea estate. Trouble begins when a human skeleton is found in the estate from an abandoned well, & is identified to be that of Sumitra, shot dead by a bullet wound. Suspicion falls on Balachandran & sharp-minded cop Mohammed Kutty (Siddique) investigates.
Village simple Kocherukkan (Jayasurya) elopes with his childhood sweetie Malli (Mythili), a maid at the house of wealthy Chandrasekhara Vazhunnor (Saikumar), & they stay with their pal Murugan (Sudheesh) to eke out a living. However, cop Kumaranesan (Siddique) who had lost an eye trying to stop their elopement, catches up with them & arrests Kocherukkan for a bunch of fabricated crimes. Eager to see Malli, Kocherukkan breaks out of jail, only to become more wanted in the eyes of the law.

Swamy & company kill Moosa & play the hotheaded new city police commissioner Jayamohan (Biju Menon) against Murugan.
60 years after a lass of the Aalathoor Thekkemadam manor, Kuttimani (Kumari Joemol), was putatively killed by her jealous lover Krishnanunni (Kunchako Boban), & after which he was hanged, the current patriarch, Valiyathan (Thilakan), looks to restart a defunct religious rite. However, things get edgy after it started to seem like the old lovers have reincarnated as Gayathri (Kumari Joemol), a young girl of the current generation & Manu (Kunchako Boban), the caretaker's son, & they fall in love.
Kunju (Dileep), the youngest member of the Thiruvambattu joint family, who became mentally ill a couple of years ago after his overly sensitive lover Malavika (Haripriya) had committed suicide after a misunderstanding, recovers since then, but constantly faces ridicule & discrimination & finds it difficult to find a bride. He finds a sympathetic companion & friend in Sreedevi (Poornima Mohan), who was of a lower caste & strata, & reminisces to her about Malavika & how he became insane.
Ramesh Prasad (Manikuttan) who dotes over his single-mother Nandini (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) who had brought him up after his father's suicide, looses his cool in a college function after Home Minister Nateshan slanders Nandini & beats up Nateshan. With the cops & Nateshan's party members out for Ramesh's blood, he is protected by Lekha (Madhumitha) & Julie (Honey Rose), 2 best friends who were also his best friends. That same night, Nateshan is murdered & the blame for that too falls on Ramesh.
Hemachandran (Hemanth Menon) takes a fancy to next door flirt Shyama (Sreelekha) & for the first time, Shyama falls for real too. However Shyama's grandad Vasudeva Kartha (Nedumudi Venu) warns him about Sathyamurthy, a maniac out to kill Shyama & also about her horoscope which predicted her death or her hubby's in 6 months, if she was ever to marry. Scorning the idea, but wanting to end Shyama's fear, Hemachandran marries Shyama, but moves in alone to a haunted house to disprove the horoscope.
Roughneck trucker Sreedharan (Murali) gets a raw deal from his selfish & womanizer assistant Ravi (Manoj K. Jayan), after Ravi woos & later dumps Sreedharan's mentor & father-figure Govindan's (Oduvil Unnikrishnan) daughter Radha (Suvarna Mathew). Later, Sreedharan tries to give a girl, Seetha (Parvathi), who gets orphaned because of him, a new life by marrying her, but Ravi had his own plans of getting Seetha for himself.
Veena (Bhavna Pani), after hearing that her boyfriend Felix (Mithun Ramesh) had left her to get married to someone else, follows suit to get him back, tagged along by a thief Gopalakrishnan (Dileep), whose recent haul, a precious necklace, had ended up with Veena. Although his initial aim was only to regain the necklace, later Gopalakrishnan promises to reunite Veena & Felix. What follows is a comedy of errors involving a throng of characters who had converged at a hotel for Felix's wedding.

Years later, Anantha Krishnan, now a famous singer, sees Varma again, only to learn that Anju is now deranged, & Varma broken & repentant.
When Gopinatha Menon (Dileep), a seemingly normal man with strong values & a humanitarian outlook, commits suicide without any apparent motives, thus baffling friends & family, Renuka (Jyothirmayi), the girl whom he was engaged to marry, embarks on a quest to learn the reasons behind the suicide.

Although dejected, Kuruvila tries to reopen the case after finding that the case officer SP Sugunapalan (Rajan P. Dev) had helped the real culprits by framing Unni.

Sundareshan, in an effort to win back his wife, decides to get an education.
Kochubaby (Sreenivasan), a blind candlemaker, falls in love with and marries Mary (Sharbani Mukherji), his blind coworker, but Mary dies in an accident soon after giving birth to a girl child. Kochubaby brings up the child, Lillykutty, alone, but in her teens, she (Shafna) too is diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease, & slated to lose her eyesight soon. Saddened, Kochubaby tries to mentally prepare his daughter for the impending life of darkness.
