Raziya (Meghana Raj), a rich Muslim girl & grandkid of freedom fighter Bapu Musaliar (Charu Haasan), falls for the poor boy next door, Raghu (Murali Krishnan), the grandkid of their family friend Kuttappan Bhaagavathar (Thilakan). When Raziya's dad Abubaker (Sphadikam George) gets to know about the affair, he asks Raghu to secure a good job & prove himself. Abubaker however had ulterior motives & sends off Raghu to Jamal (Sudheer), a recruiter who recruits youths to terrorist camps in Pakistan.

Benoy John (Indrajith) & his gang are happy-go-lucky children of rich parents. The gang is sent to a divine convention centre by Idikkula's uncle, where they meet Thankam George (Simran), a mysterious & beautiful lady. Idikkula falls for her, but she avoids him. In the following incidents, the gang helps Thankom escape from a group of hooligans. The gang thereafter meets Thankam at varied places. Each time Thankom tells a different story to the gang which makes her more mysterious to the group.

Bharathan (Babu Antony), after his gangster father Vettukadan's (Narendra Prasad) death, returns to Chathan Colony where he is forced to step into his father's shoes & become a gangster himself. After assaulting a school master (Charu Haasan) by mistake, Bharathan repents & tries to turn over a new leaf, but his old foes - Velayudhan (Rajan P. Dev) & son Raghavan (Kollam Ajith), don't let go.

Malini Laxman (Madhavi), a PhD student invents a vaccine which would make a human immune to narcotics, but the formula gets stolen from her, her husband killed & she jailed for selling drugs, in a plot masterminded by her professor Ramamoorthy (Charu Haasan), Poonthurayil Itty (Rajan P. Dev) & Police commissioner Sathyanathan (Soman). Malini ends up in Mumbai where she becomes wealthy from the Mumbai Underworld & returns as Aparna, to take revenge on the people responsible for her losses.

Surya (Rajnikanth) is an orphan raised in a slum. He finds a friend in the local Godfather (Mamooty). They rule the town and forms a parallel government. Ravi (Suresh Gopi), an educated young man, comes to a hermitage called 'Santhipuram' run by Vishnuji (Charu Haasan), to serve the poor & the needy, & his pal Gopan (Jayaram) follows suit as part of his research project. Ravi is charmed by Vishnuji, but Gopan gets suspicious about dubious activities going on in the place. Then one day Gopan witnesses Ravi being attacked by strangers & Ravi subsequently disappears. Ravi is suspected dead & Thomas Mathew (Thilakan), Crime Branch SP, investigates.

Sreedevi (Ambika) comes with her brain-damaged husband, IPS officer Baburaj (Ratheesh), to Kodaikanal, to help him recover. There, she meets Raghavan (Mohanlal), a trucker, who aids in Baburaj's recovery. After Baburaj started regaining his memory, he realizes that Raghavan is in reality, an escaped death row con, Antony Isaac, convicted for murdering his wife, Lalitha, for having an affair. Knowing Antony's story, more than wanting to arrest him, Baburaj wanted to find Lalitha's secret lover.
