The film starts with two brothers pelting through the countryside on horseback. One, Meng Liang (Pai Ying), returns back home to Ma as the other, Hsiao Shun, takes off into town. As Hsiao arrives he finds bodies everywhere, with a group of bandits forcing themselves on the womenfolk. He intervenes, killing all but one bandit and saving a young woman. (The Chivalrous Inn)
Classic, hard to find old school Kung Fu/Wu Xia with Chen Kuan Tai in one his earliest roles. Nice action and production values, as well as good acting, from what I can tell. (youtube)
David (Qiao Zhuang) and Mona (Yu Qian) are a spoiled brother-and-sister duo who carelessly use the family fortune to while away their time. David's friend Hanming (Yang Fan) introduces him to the lovely Danfeng (Jenny Wu), and despite Hanming's quiet infatuation with her, David moves in quickly. Chang plays Chan Chao, a knight of justice, who thwarts the plans of Minister Peng to assassinate the revered Judge Pao Cheng over and over again.
