The film follows closely Alexandre Dumas' book 'The Three Musketeers'. D'Artagnan is a young man who wants to become a King's Musketeer. He quickly offends Porthos, Athos and Aramis, challenging all three to a duel at the same time. They eventually become friends and unite to save the honor of Queen Anne of Austria.
