Dr. Jack Kessler is chair of Northwestern University's Department of Neurology. After a spine injury leaves his daughter unable to walk, Dr. Kessler sets his sights on curing spinal cord injuries with embryonic stem cells. Along the way, we are given basic information on stem cells and are also confronted with the ethics debate surrounding their use.
