Piazza delle cinque luna, is an Italian political thriller, which takes a fictional approach to a real event. Focusing, upon the true story of the kidnapping and ultimate death of Italian political leader Aldo Moro, the film imagines a regional judge (played by Donald Sutherland) discovering clues that lead him to a vast conspiracy.

Director Giacomo Campiotti profiles the life of physician and biochemistry pioneer Giuseppe Moscati, whose ministering to indigent patients during the early 1900s made him one of the few laymen to be canonized. Starring Beppe Fiorello as Moscati, the film follows the doctor as he saves nursing home patients after Mount Vesuvius erupts, copes with a cholera outbreak and conducts tests leading to the discovery of insulin as a diabetes treatment.
