Visual Training (1969) - Short Film
A seemingly imperturbable man gets involved in a food orgy with two voluptuous, half-naked women. All the actions - one of the women is blindfolded and sprinkled with baking powder, after which lots of food is smeared about - have a strong sinister charge. Make-up, lighting and the editing reinforce this effect. With Christian Manders, Trix Zwartjes and others. (ubuweb)
Audition (1973) - Short Film
Audition is a good example of a film with a wonderful music tape. The film is a visual improvisation between camera and actors, virtually no storyline - a man looks and listens to a woman singing, while another woman watches - and thrilling mainly in black and white images. The music, too, is based on improvisations. With Christian Manders, Tineke and Moniek Toebosch.
In a monumental building a group of scientists submit women to obscure and inhuman experiments, in which sexuality and cruelty constantly merge into one another.
