Erwin Pelzig takes over his neighbour Griesmaier's job as the driver of the industrialist Eduard Brieger until Griesmaier has fully recovered from an accident. When Pelzig learns by accident that Brieger's factories, which are producing shopping cart, are in financial troubles, he sees his neighbour's job jeopardized once again.
