During the Greek Revolution, a bunch of bizarre Greeks from different places of the country visits a inn. There, quarrels are soon to begin with the police force being unable to prevent the impending massive destruction of the place.
A music student, Lila, whose uncle has stolen the family fortune - agrees to play the piano for a cranky spinster, Miss Aristea. Aristea feels protective towards Lila. She assigns her lawyer to reclaim the girl's fortune from her embezzling uncle. During a visit her fiancé is startled by a picture of his father, who, as it turns out, was Aristea's love. The shock kills her. In her will, she leaves Lila her 201 canaries, but in an old worn-out couch a significant sum of money is discovered. (imdb)
