The story starts in a futuristic, devastated and polluted New York City. Two twelve-year-old boys, Tom and Sam, decide to embark on a trip in search of a better future outside the city. On a beach, they meet an old man, Socrates, who gives them an ancient book called Destiny which contains the key to reach the island of the Golden Horse, a still uncontaminated piece of land.
