The Netherlands at the end of the 60s: Jan-Hein Swieps and his wife Ansje pick up the hitchhicker Manuel and can't get rid of him. After a night of drinking and debating about all sort of things Ansje falls in love with Manuel. Manuel stays a while with the copple and in a short time the Swieps become party annimals. But do they want this? It seems very difficult to the Swieps to get Manuel out of their lifes...
