In 1939, 19-year-old Thomas (Lars Bom) is concerned with other things than the world situation. He comes from a bourgeois home, but everything he knows is turned upside down when he meets the family next door, Thamms, with the twins Topsy (Nonny Sand) and Mick (Thomas Alling). Based on a novel by Danish author Leif Panduro.
Leif Panduro's modern classic about the unsuitable high school student David, admitted to a psychiatric clinic after kicking his principal at the end. In retrospect, one sees his relationship with the distinctive family to the school to his comrades, and not least to the girl Lis who eventually shows way out of the conflicts.
