A group of Greek soldiers, who serve their military service in Kos, is sent to guard the skerry of Pitta. Everything looks normal until a Turkish boat disembarks 4 castaways on Pitta.

May 1895. Our story begins when the family of George Pavlides engages their 12-year-old son, Miltos, with the 9-year-old daughter of Michalis Nikolaidis, Ifigenia. The attacks of fanatical Turks will force the two families to flee their homeland. The two youngsters will meet again in Istanbul 11 years later.
