This is an accurate movie adaptation for the old fairytale. When the old miller dies, he leaves his belongings, along with financial problems, to his three sons. The oldest one gets a mill, the middle one gets the donkey and the youngest one receives the cat named Minkus. He doesn't know that the animal is more clever than he thinks and that it will help him solve problems.

It is the year 1944 and World War II is not over yet. The Germans want to send their last available submarine, the U-900, on a secret mission from Toulon to Warnemuende. Atze pretends to be the legendary Lieutenant Commander Roenberg. But the crew gets suspicious when their commander starts issuing unconventional orders. (imdb)
