Shy, closeted Jack has spent the past year at home with his mum. He's been grieving for his father but the time has come for him to take his place at uni where he meets his roommate mature student Danny and an unlikely friendship develops.

Three Plebs join the army in peace-time, hoping to win respect, romance and military discounts at selected restaurants. But when war's declared they're sent to fight on the front line of a Roman legion for a cause they don't believe in. Now their main interest is the struggle for survival.

Tired of the same romantic highs and lows, Sammy comes up with a plan to have a three week "affair" with Tom and then part ways after. The plan does not quite pan out.
