Biography: José Pereira de Abreu Júnior, conhecido artisticamente como José de Abreu, é um ator brasileiro nascido em 24 de maio de 1946 em Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, São Paulo. Começou a carreira no teatro universitário enquanto estudava Direito na PUC-SP. Estreou em 1967 no TUCA com a peça Morte e Vida Severina, de João Cabral de Melo Neto e Chico Buarque. No final dos anos 60 viveu um período de autoexílio na Europa como hippie antes de voltar ao Brasil. Ganhou projeção nacional no cinema com o filme A Intrusa, de 1979, pelo qual venceu o prêmio de Melhor Ator no Festival de Gramado. O sucesso o levou para a Rede Globo em 1980, onde iniciou uma longa trajetória na televisão. Com mais de 50 anos de carreira, é um dos atores mais presentes na teledramaturgia brasileira. Entre seus trabalhos mais lembrados na TV estão Guerra dos Sexos, Rainha da Sucata, A Próxima Vítima, Senhora do Destino, Avenida Brasil como o Nilo, Joia Rara, Império, Babilônia e Segundo Sol. Também tem extensa carreira no cinema e no teatro e é autor do livro autobiográfico Abreugrafia.
