A film about friendship, commitment and abandonment. It tells of thirty men who momentarily achieve something "great". At the same time they realize a certain era in some way coming to an end.

A priest who left his cheating wife moves with his school-aged son to a small town in Kainuu, where he plans to start a new life. The beginning, however, is not very rosy when the reception in the small community turns out to be cold. The father immediately becomes the talk of the other members of the congregation and the son is being bullied at school. The situation begins to escalate, and very suddenly the continuation of life in a new community seems hopeless.

A finnish adaptation of Herman Melville's Bartleby, set in a small machine shop. Partanen, the owner, lives for his job and struggles to understand his family, who are leaving him. Along comes Moilanen, a man of few words and a mysterious will to do nothing.
