Willie, a janitor at Acme Carpet Sweepers Company, is taking a night course in practical psychology. He believes the boss at Acme, John E. Stevens, runs the company like a machine, and not in a good way as his employees act like robots without any emotional attachment to their work or each other. An example is the relationship between clerks Charlie Hall and Mary Jones and over that time have never each looked at the other as another human being.

The actors arrive in a motor car, and are welcomed to the hotel by the boniface and his assistants. The Americans admire the surroundings, and are agreeably surprised at what they see, and the cordial welcome extended to them. All the well-known "Imp" stars appear in traveling costume, which is their first formal introduction in proper personae, an innovation which will be welcomed by their many admirers. In the next scene they sally forth to engage in the work of producing a picture.

"Girl of the Rio" is a 1932 American Pre-Code RKO musical film starred Dolores del Río and Leo Carrillo. Directed by Herbert Brenon, the screenplay was written by Elizabeth Meehan and Louis Stevens, based on the play "The Dove by Willard Mack," which was itself based on a magazine article by Gerald Beaumont. The film is a remake of the 1927 silent film "The Dove," starring Norma Talmadge.
