Mary John Kurishingal (Nafisa Ali), better known as Mary 'Teacher', a social activist and a beacon of hope to the orphans of Kochi, is murdered. Her four foster sons take it upon themselves to unearth the mystery behind their mother's murder, and with the eldest Bilal (Mammootty) leading them, work their way up the dirty side of the city, which churns with petty crime gangs, drugs and prostitution. How they accomplish their revenge forms the rest of the story.

A group of anthropology students, under the oversight of Prof. Shankaranarayanan (Raghavan), comes to the remote forest area of Muthuvan Mala, to study the tribal life there. One of the students, Sunny (Nishanth Sagar), unleashes the spirit of Neeli (Vani Viswanathan), a ghost seeking revenge against the Thripangod royal family, one of whom had killed her & her lover. After Neeli starts killing off the students one by one, sorcerer Vadakkedath Namboothiri (Prathapachandran) is summoned.

Years later, Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindankutty (Siddique) & Appukkuttan (Jagadish), now settled in different places with their respective families, return to Harihar Nagar to attend Thomaskutty's (Asokan) wedding. Having 10 days to themselves without their wives & kids, they decide to relive their youth, with their new object of affection being their old flame Maya's namesake (Lakshmi Rai). However, their old enemy John Honai's son Freddy Honai (Sudipto Balav), has a score to settle with them.

Dr. Balagopal (Mohanlal), a gynecologist at the Allied Hospital, tries to stop a group of terrorists who have planted bombs in 5 major cities in Kerala, & who have taken Home Minister Sakhriya Thomas (Shivaji Guruvayoor) & his new-born child, hostages.

Siddarth (Prithviraj), a computer Engineer, turns into a cyber hacker & thief, after he is framed & accused of swindling the bank he worked in, IBI Bank, of Rs. 20 lakhs. Seeking revenge against Nandakumara Menon (Biju Menon), who had framed him & who was now the owner of IBI Bank, Siddarth systematically loots the bank of crores of rupees from different customer accounts. Hot on his tail were cop-turned-cyber investigator Alexander Felix (Narein) & ACP Harris Mohammad (Jayasurya).

In this threequel to 'In Harihar Nagar', Thomaskutty (Asokan) buys a supposedly haunted mansion from an old lady, Dorothy Fernandes, with the intention of starting a tourist resort there. However, in order to convince the townsfolk that the mansion wasn't really haunted, Thomaskutty requests his old friends Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindankutty (Siddique) & Appukkuttan (Jagadish) to stay there with him for a week. However, soon they realize that there were evil forces at work in the mansion.

Recording company executive Rakesh Menon (Siddique) & friends regularly hosts a weekly Friday night dinner where they invite the dumbest guy they could find & have fun at his expense. At the suggestion of a friend, he invites singer C.R. Krishnanunni (Jagadish) to his house to see if he'd be a suitable Friday night dinner guest. Rakesh, suffering from back pain, has to cancel the dinner, & gets stuck with the loud-mouth Krishnanunni who turns Rakesh's life upside down.

Padmanabhan Nair (Jayaram), patriarch of the Vadakkedathu family, who had always kept a tight grip on family matters, starts losing his grip after his younger brother Sasi (Biju Menon) turns rebellious in search of good fortune after befriending upstart Sivan (Siddique). Despite being warned about Sivan's dubious ways, Sasi partners Sivan, including marrying off their sister Ammu (Lena) to him. However, when Sivan's true colors come to light, Sasi repents his string of foolish mistakes.

Ravi Abraham (Anoop Menon) & Parvathi's (Samvrutha Sunil) perfect life is instantly turned upside down when their little girl Ammu is abducted by a kidnapper, Ambi (Jayasurya), with an elaborate scheme. With the clock ticking on their daughter's life, the couple is forced to comply with the wishes of the madman. The kidnapper does not want money from the couple, but instead makes increasingly humiliating & impossible demands of them in order to secure their child's release.

A traffic accident strings together the life of a group of people from differing backgrounds. In Kochi, rookie journalist Reihan (Vineeth Sreenivasan), on the deathbed after an accident, is taken off life support to remove his heart, to be rushed to Palakkad to be transplanted into the body of movie star Siddarth's sick daughter (Namitha Pramod). With 150 kms to cover in 2 hours with crowded roads & towns along the way, the arduous task is taken up by disgraced traffic cop Sudevan (Sreenivasan).

Based on Madhavikutty's novel 'Manomi', with the Sri Lankan Civil War as the backdrop, Tamil poet & radical Thiruchelvam (Suresh Gopi), on the run from the cops, hides out at a house in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, where he meets Manomi (Mithra Kurian), a Sinhalese girl who tends to his wounds. Manomi falls in love with Thiruchelvam, but he spurns her love to continue his mission. Years later, Thiruchelvam returns to the place, on the run again, this time determined to meet his mother & Manomi.

Ashwathy (Kavya Madhavan), a Hindu, after her husband dies in an accident, goes to Saudi Arabia as a house maid. There, she faces terrible abuses in the hands of her employers, escapes from there, goes missing & is later accused of theft. Razak Kottekkad (Sreenivasan), a social worker, takes an interest in her case, & tries to track her down.

D.I.G. Mohan Shankar (Suresh Gopi), forced to deliver the ransom money for a hostage, Hema (Sarayu), the daughter of businessman Satharam (Shanawas), was in for a rude shock when he loses the money, is beaten up & the hostage killed. Retreating from the limelight, Mohan goes to the coastal town of Kanyakumari to continue his stalled research. But he runs into his old enemies there again, but before he could nab them using the force of the law, they strangely started getting killed one by one.

Ajayan Menon (Mohanlal), having made his fortune in the Middle East, has settled down in his home village to be with his mother Ammukutty Amma (Sheela) & lead a peaceful life. Now middle-aged, Ajayan gets a kick out of boasting to his friends about a fictitious wanton life he had during his younger years. His worst nightmare comes true however, when a teenage boy (Rahul Pillai) shows up & claims to be his son & everyone believes the boy. Ajayan resorts to various ways to get rid of the boy.

Jayashankar (Jayaram), leading a content life with his sister & mother in a village, gets into trouble when he is accused of stealing money & has to leave for the city in search of his long-lost cousin Sethuraman. However, Sethuraman turns out to be Chenkeri Sethu (Suraaj Venjarammoodu), a notorious thief, & seeing no other go, Jayashankar joins Sethu's gang. In no time, Jayashankar turns out to be a new age urban thief, but he gets the shock of his life when he gets a job as SI of Police.

Frustrated by her mediocre life not befitting a doctor's wife in her mind, Subalakshmi (Sona Nair) pushes her husband, homeopath Bhargavan Pillai (Innocent), to live beyond their means, including pledging their house to contest a Panchayath election & hocking his scooter to buy dresses for a wedding. All excesses come home to roost however, when their actions culminate in the bank arriving to possess their house for failure to repay their debts.

Yakobi (Kalabhavan Mani) lives a happy life with his wife Saritha (Lena) & teenage daughter Diya (Diya Babu) in a remote Tamil Nadu village when his old pal Babuttan (Biju Menon) shows up. Last time they had parted was when Babuttan had used trickery to dump his pregnant girlfriend Saritha on Yakobi, whom he latter married. Seeing Yakobi well settled, Babuttan demands Saritha to get Yakobi fund a new truck for him, to keep him from revealing to Yakobi that Diya was actually Babuttan's daughter.

Faizal (Dulquer Salmaan), the only son of a rich businessman, Abdul Razak (Siddique), studies a chef's course in Switzerland against Razak's wishes. As the relation between father & son breaks, Faizal goes in search of his grandfather, Karim (Thilakan), who ran a restaurant, "Ustad Hotel', in Kozhikode. A strong bond develops between Karim & Faizal, & Faizal staves off a takeover of the hotel by the owner (Jinu Joseph) of a rich 5 star hotel nearby.

After a late-realization that he is an alcoholic, TV celebrity Raghunandan (Mohanlal) decides to fight his alcoholism, which had once wrecked his marriage. After turning sober, Raghunandan, through his show 'Show D' Spirit' exposes the societal effects of chronic alcoholism in Kerala by following the life of a chronic alcoholic, a plumber by the name of Maniyan (Nandu).

'Chapters' chronicles 4 distinct stories with interlocking connections. Chapter 1 has Krishna Kumar (Nivin Pauly) & his 3 friends try to raise cash for Krishna Kumar's sister's wedding by brokering the sale of a rare gem, but gets cheated out of the cash. Chapter 2 has Sethu (Sreenivasan), transporting money meant for his son's surgery. Chapter 3 has a group of friends helping a couple elope to marry & Chapter 4 has Sethu from chapter 2 revealing how he came across the cash for the surgery.

The lives of different characters from different strata of the society gets interlinked around a series of murders which happen in the city - the poor toy-seller Vishnu (Indrajith), the frustrated house-wife Madhuri (Tanu Roy), her impotent husband Ajay (V.G. Muralikrishnan), the journalist Rupa (Lena), the narcissistic Police Commissioner Tom Cherian (Anoop Menon) investigating the serial murders & Rustham (Nishan), a North Indian porn actor looking to entrap Madhuri for a sex video.

Najeeb (Maqbool Salmaan) is a youngster from an orthodox Muslim family who wishes to be a film star against his father's wishes, while Savithri (Mythili) is a motherless girl from a poor family who lands up in the film industry to escape her abusive father Gopi (Sasi Kalinga). The duo get a chance to be the lead pair in a film that appears to be an ordinary love story but turns out to be a sleaze-fest when it releases. The pair, subsequently, is ostracized from society.

Following the disclosure of a corruption scandal involving a major communist leader Kaitheri Sahadevan (Hareesh Peradi), by 2 renegade journos Aliyar (Sudheer Karamana) & Suresh (Sreejith Ravi), veteran activist Roy Joseph (V.G. Muralikrishnan) tries to manage the fallout. In a related side story, corrupt cop P.K. Jayan (Indrajith) commits a murder for the girl of his dreams, Jennifer Kuruvila (Ramya Nambeeshan), only to be snubbed by her as she seeks to leave the country for a better life.

Set in late 1950s Kuttanad, Guru Dasan (Lal) was a famed singer from the low-caste Pulluvar group, who had two wives, Janaki (Lakshmi Lahari) & Chakkara (Iniya). A serial womanizer, Dasan also is drawn close to Devaki (Lena), an upper-caste Brahmin & the wife of the village landlord as well. Their relationship however, results in a severe fallout for Dasan.

Rose Moothedan (Nadia Moidu), an ex-basketball player, has to balance life between mentoring her achieving tennis star daughter Anju (Umang Jain), & her womanizer husband Alex Paul (Prathap K. Pothan). Complicating things, her husband's latest fling Cyns (Lena) goes public with the claim that he sexually assaulted her, & later Cyns is found dead. Cop & family friend Fouzia Hassan (Lakshmi Rai) investigates.

Anil Kumar Bokaro (Minon), a class V student in the village of Kaviyoor, Thiruvalla, gets an assignment from his teacher Mukundan (Indrajith) to come up with 101 questions about his surroundings & the life around him. As the highly observant Anil goes about coming up with the questions, the situation at his home slowly deteriorates as his father Sivanandan (Murugan) loses his factory job & his mother Sati (Lena) struggles to feed the family with her meagre income as a manual laborer.

Siddharth (Indrajith), a creative executive at an advertising agency & his friend, dancer Veena (Ramya Nambeeshan), try to solve the mystery of their friend Icha (Nivin Pauly) who starts to appear before both of them at the same time. They seek the help of a friend, Sudheer Bose (Prathap Pothen), who researches on folklore & parapsychology.

Vijay Das (Prithviraj), a London-based businessman & cutthroat usurer, gets a chance to marry up when one of the richest men in Britain, C.S. Nambiar (Prathap K. Pothan), asks him to marry his daughter Pavithra (Andrea Jeremiah). Vijay now has to fake a humane side to impress the do-gooder Pavithra, which included caring for Merin (Nandita Raj), a Malayali nurse whom Vijay had hit with his car. However, Vijay & Merin fall in love & he has to choose between Pavithra's immense riches & Merin.

David (Jayasurya), an orphan who was raised by priest Fr. Gerald (P. Balachandran) in a church in Vagamon, grows up to be a timid young man. His favorite past time was working on electrical & electronic components & inventing gizmos. One of his works, a pedal-powered electric generator, lands in the hands of inventor & angel investor Sunny Ulahannan (Anoop Menon), who seeks out David. Sunny uses David's technology to launch a commercial product & get rich, but fails to give David due credits.

Political goon Manikandan aka Mani returns from jail after 8 years, after having taken the blame for a murder for politicians Vattakkadan Varkey (Vijayaraghavan) & Amir Hussain (Shammi Thilakan). Realizing that Varkey & Hussain had exploited him, Mani tries to start over, but is forced to enter the fray against Varkey after Varkey rapes his sister & she commits suicide. Taking advantage of an open MLA position, Mani ascends to power & takes on Varkey & Hussain.

Regretful over the fact that he couldn't become a doctor himself, Asokan Chirakkara (Jagadish) pushes his son Adarsh (Sujith) to become a doctor. However, on the day of the the medical entrance exam, Adarsh buckles under pressure & gets a panic attack, shattering Asokan's dreams. Over the next few days, Asokan realizes that he had never before bothered to acknowledge his son's own dreams of becoming a painter & was imposing his own wishes on his son.

Various characters' lives intersect in the city of Kochi - NRI Manu Krishna (Fahadh Faasil) is in Kochi to pay blood money to the relatives of a man his wife Asha (Isha Talwar) killed by accident, taxi driver Muhammed (Lal) is trying to raise money for his daughters surgery, & lawyer Mathen Tharaken (Sreenivasan) is trying to get to the court along with his chief witness Serena (Lena) who had agreed to testify against her husband Vakkachan (Nandu), a politician accused in a scandalous rape case.

In this anti-abortion screed, Sahadevan (Sreenivasan), a vet, takes it upon himself to save the fetus of unwed lovers Geethu (Shritha Sivadas) & Faizal (Arjun Lakshmi Narayan) after the couple decides that an abortion is the only way to save their faces. Initially reluctant, Sahadevan is goaded to action when the fetus takes the form of a human boy & tags him around. Meanwhile, Faizal's dad Alikkoya (Jagadish) schemes to get Geethu to an abortionist, Dr. Isaac (Asokan), to end the pregnancy.

Mamachan (Biju Menon),a small-town politician, uses his ingenuity & shrewdness to get the girl of his dreams, Lisa (Nikki Galrani), & win an election to become the M.L.A.

Sekharankutty (Mammootty) lives a peaceful life in Kerala, running a gas station & restaurant with his wife Radha (Raai Laxmi) & daughter. Then after one day a few strangers arrive & attack Sekharankutty & family, it is revealed that Sekharankutty is actually Raja, an ex-gangster from Mumbai, who had turned over a new leaf with the help of Collector Maheendra Varma (Siddique) & now his old friends turned foes - Krishna Vamshi (Raza Murad) & Shah (Joy Mathew) - are out to seek revenge.

An affluent couple - Paul & Sheela (Lena) - decides to return their adopted son Thommi (Gowri Shankar) back to the orphanage where they adopted him from, after the couple become pregnant with their own baby. Thommi's teacher & caregiver Jeelu (Ananya) tries to convince Paul & Sheela to keep the boy.

Vikram (Unni Mukundan), son of cop Vasudeva Shenoy (Anoop Menon), & Adithyan (Dulquer Salmaan), son of thief Kunjunni Menon (Santhosh Keezhattoor), are childhood rivals, who compete for everything including the attention of their lady pal Deepika Pai (Namitha Pramod). Seeing Shenoy groom his son to be a Sub-Inspector, Adithyan tries to be one too, but Shenoy dupes Adithyan's mother Lakshmi (Lena) to cheat him out of the job. A dejected Adithyan leaves home, but chases a higher dream.

After the death of their daughter in a car accident, lawyer Manoj (Jayaram) & his wife Bhavana (Priyamani) grow apart from each other. Bhavana loses her mental stability & starts accusing Manoj of having affairs with other women. She invents her own imaginary friend, Raj Menon (Narain), & communicates with him, but her letters & phone calls to Raj end up going to Rajan (Kalabhavan Shajohn), a criminal & a client of Manoj's. As Manoj tries to cure Bhavana, a besotted Rajan comes looking for her.

Iyob, a slave-turned-master rules over his tea estate with his 2 ruthless sons Ivan (Jinu Joseph) & Dimitri (Chemban Vinod Jose), while his youngest son Aloshi (Fahadh Faasil) stays aloof from their brutality. After Ivan & Dimitri tries to kill Aloshi, he is brought back to life by his hunter friend Chemban (Vinayakan). After his recovery, Aloshi teams up with Chemban & his childhood friend Martha (Isha Sharvani) to rebel against his own family.

Set against the backdrop of Kerala's cutthroat 24x7 news media, the movie is about two parallel romance stories - one between two TV anchors, Roopesh Nambiar (Dileep) & Kabani (Nikhila Vimal), at a news channel called 'Nalamidam', & two 50+ year old doctors, Sarayu (Suhasini) & Satheesh (Sashi Kumar), who were lovers in medical school, but who got separated & was meeting again after a long time.

Ajay (Asif Ali) drops out of the National Defense Academy & decides to visit his estranged father, lawyer Sidharth Shankar (Prem Prakash), who was weakened after getting cancer. There, Ajay joins his father's fight - to obtain justice for Venukuttan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), a retired grandfather who was unable to get his grandchild Arya (Sanusha) to the hospital after an accident, because of the political rally of a major political party snarling up the traffic.

Neena (Deepti Sati), a brilliant creative director at an ad agency, but a serial smoker & an alcoholic, takes a fancy to her new boss Vinay Panicker (Vijay Babu) who treats her kindly. When Vinay spurns her advances since he was happily married to Nalini (Ann Augustine), Neena attempts suicide, but scraps through. Vinay checks her into a rehab, & decides to give her company. As Neena sobered up, she distances herself from Vinay, but Vinay now starts getting attracted to her, complicating things.

Set in the 1960s & '70s in Mukkam, Kerala, the film tells the tragic love story of Moideen (Prithviraj) who belongs to a renowned Muslim family & Kanchana Mala (Parvathy) who is the daughter of a Hindu Thiyya aristocratic landlord. Since inter-religious marriages were a taboo then, the couple had to part ways as their families objected to their love affair.

Street-smart Ullas Kumar(Dileep) marries Canadian citizen Laya (Mamta) without realizing that she was a chronic alcoholic. Ullas follows Laya to Canada, but they end up always fighting. Finally Laya files for divorce, but Ullas convinces the judge that he needs to be present in Laya's life because of her alcoholism. Now Laya has to kick her addiction to prove she can independently function, & hence procure the divorce.

Ex-railway sportswoman Vandana (Manju Warrier) is married to volleyball coach Aby (Anoop Menon), who manages a team called the 'Karinkunnam 6's'. Aby finds sponsors for his dream venture, a volleyball league, but an altercation with a team member leaves him paralyzed & his own team members jump ship shortly afterwards. Forced to take up the mantle, Vandana forms a new volleyball team with a ragtag group of convicted prisoners and attempts to train them to win the league.

Jiya (Amala Paul), a rich heiress, gets into a car accident & suffers short-term memory loss of the past 2 years of her life. Learning of the importance of someone in her life whom she abbreviates as 'P', 2 charlatans, calling themselves Pranav Menon (Kunchacko Boban) & Prince (Jayasurya), turn up, each claiming to be Jiya's lover, but whom she no longer remembers. A confused Jiya tries to verify both their claims, but each had ulterior motives.

Susamma (Bhagyalakshmi), a wealthy grandmother, helps to change her son-in-law's (Suraaj Venjarammoodu) mother Leelamma's (Rajini Chandy) repressed behavior by fulfilling her bucket list, including searching for Leelamma's college sweetheart. Later they start an online group to fulfill the wishes of elderly people.

In the village of Allimoola, Kavalam Jimmy (Asif Ali) & Vattathil Bosco (Narain) are rivals who & their circle of friends often try to one-up each other. Their rivalry comes to head when they challenge each other for a volleyball tournament. With the stakes high with Jimmy & Bosco both staking their love lives on the game, the rich Bosco ropes in Minnal Simon (Biju Menon), a small-time coach to pretend to be Jimmy's team's coach, but in reality, Simon's mission was to ensure their defeat.

Yakoob (Alencier) owns a small movie theater in the village called 'Kanyaka Talkies' that mostly plays soft-porn films. A series of personal tragedies force him to hand over the property to the church & leave the village. The building is converted to a church with a young priest, Michael (Murali Gopy), as its vicar. However, soon after taking charge, Michael starts hearing bizarre, disturbing noises resembling movie dialogs, from the building, & its disreputable past begins to bother him.

After planter Adam Joan Pothan (Prithviraj) loses his wife Amy (Mishti) during childbirth, he leaves his newborn daughter Ila with his brother Alan (Rahul Madhav) in Scotland to be brought up as Alan's own daughter. However, years later, when Ila is kidnapped & Adam's mother is shot dead, Adam returns to Scotland to find the culprits.

In the village of Velappan Chavadi, a mosque makes & serves the dish of biryani to all the villagers every Sunday. When the cook who makes the dish, Rajan (Sasi Kalinga), passes away unexpectedly, the villagers scramble to find a replacement. Thara (Lena), a widow, offers her culinary skills & lands the job, but before she could impress the villagers, she gives birth to a child whose father's identity was a mystery to the villagers.

When a kid is admitted to the hospital with head injuries & subsequently dies, cop Latha Siddharth (Leona Lishoy) & Inspector Alphonse (Nandu) investigates. They find inconsistencies in the narratives of the child's father Aravind (Jayasurya), mother Kavitha (Shruti Ramachandran) & their family friend Dr. Gautham (Vijay Babu).

During the interview, Vysakh opened up on ‘Monster’ by saying that the film is a complete entertainer with an intriguing and thrilling storyline. He also said that the film will have the best screenplay ever penned down by the writer Udayakrishna. The director further added that the film will discuss certain topics that were rarely contemplated in Malayalam cinema.
