In December 7th 1998, ten years after the earthquake that destroyed the Armenian city of Leninakan, the makers of Lux aeterna return to film the city and its inhabitants. They will find a land haunted by inhuman pain.

On December 7th in 1988, at 11h41, a terrible earthquake devastated an entire region in Armenia's second largest city, Leninakan. A few hours after the shock, a young man began to shoot the destruction with his Super 8 camera, in black and white film. Based on these unpublished images, the film is a poem about the indescribable pain of men.

Hamo, an old farmer lives with his wife in a remote village in the mountains of Armenia. The money their son send them from Russia just allows them to survive. But Hamo nourishes a dream of acquiring a Moskvitch, the most beautiful car in the world, the one that had promised the Soviet power and that he never had. The Soviet Union is gone, but the dream of Hamo remains. He learns that there is one for sale in a nearby village... (imdb)
