This Italian political satire explores a fictional attempted military/right-wing takeover of Italy. Grifondi (Ugo Tognazzi) is the main plotter in this scheme, but he also has the support of the police and the military. There was another, more sinister group waiting for just such an event, and when the first coup fails, the second one begins. Interestingly, this was the first film funded by Italnoleggio, a nationally supported production company. (Allmovie.com)

In the year 2250 the universe is divided into two: on the one hand the world of the rectangle and on the other the world of the triangle. During a deportation on Saturn, the two give life to a last disastrous battle, which will lead to the destruction of the world. The "Fantarca" spaceship remains isolated in space and its surviving crew is faced with the difficult choice of whether to continue the journey towards Saturn, or return to Earth and build a new civilization there.
