Shot in direct cinema style, working from a script that left room for the teenagers to improvise and express their own thoughts, the film sought to capture the immediacy of the youths presence their bodies, their language, their environment. Le Beau plaisir (The Beautiful Delight) is a 15 minutes film from 1968 which returns to Île-aux-Coudres to reprise the Beluga whale hunt of "Pour la suite du monde", with the major difference here being the use of color. We see the clever techniques the islanders use to trap the animals, as well as their delight when they succeed in capturing one of these wily marine mammals. (KG)
