In the 19th century a young samurai ducks into a brothel after an illegal fight and a young prostitute helps him evade the authorities. When he befriends her and tells her she can remake herself despite her profession she comes to believe he loves and will marry her. The other prostitutes unite to support her in her expected happiness.
