Unnikrishnan (Dileep), a jobless youth, who is heavily in debt, decides to commit suicide after taking an insurance policy which he figures would pay back his loans, after he dies. He jumps into the sea, but he reaches a distant place & gets caught in the fishing nets of Gangadharan (Cochin Haneefa). He thinks that Unni is deaf and mute and Gangadharan gives Unni and his own assistant Ramanan (Harisree Ashokan) as collateral to the 'Punjabi House', where he himself had taken a loan from.
Writer Balachandran's (Mammootty) uneventful life gets a jolt when a known literary figure, C.P. (Nedumudi Venu), praises his unfinished novel as the new voice of Malayalam literature. Sivadasan (Mukesh), a small-time publisher, befriends Balachandran & motivates him to complete the book, also hoping to get the rights to publish it. But when Balachandran experiences writer's block, an extra impetus is provided by the return of his old sweetheart Padma (Khushboo), just separated from her husband.
Bhuvanachandran aka Bhuvan (Dileep), a broke real estate broker, is conned into buying a 30 acre land in Tamil Nadu, disputed by 2 warring local bigwigs - Pandidurai (Prakash Raj) & Karuppayya (Rajan P. Dev), both of whom sworn to kill anyone buying the land. Bhuvan & his partner Bhasi (Harisree Asokan), hatch a plan wherein Bhuvan would befriend Pandidurai to get closer to him. Bhuvan also gets drawn to Karuppayya's daughter Meena (Navya Nair), unaware that Pandidurai also has an eye on her.
Sreedharan (Mammootty), who runs a garage, is a simpleton, who is on the lookout for a bride who is a college graduate. When his uncle requests him to let his daughter Ashwathi (Neena Kurup) stay in Sreedharan's house, to finish off the last year of her studies, & also expresses his wish that Sreedharan should marry Ashwathi after her studies, Sreedharan becomes very happy, but what he finds though, is a very rude & arrogant Ashwathi. Sreedharan sets out to satisfy her whims & to win her heart.
Gayathri (Urvashi), a Brahmin girl, becomes the talk of the village when she comes to teach Arabic at the local school to support her poor family. Local Muslims & Hindus, who didn't want a Hindu teaching an Islamic language, become offended & try to stop her, but activist & poet Shekaran (Murali) & school owner Hajiyar (V.K. Sriraman) encourage her to stay on. Ousted from the house she stayed in as a lodger, Gayathri seeks refuge with a kind Muslim family, which further enrages her detractors.
Angel (Nithya Menon) lives with her two unmarried aunts Annie (Lakshmi Ramakrishnan) & Mercy (Reena Bashir) in Fort Kochi, in a house called "Rosevilla", shielding themselves from the world around, as they find that men are treacherous. Abey (Asif Ali), a young man, arrives in the city in search of a job, & becomes a tenant in the outbuilding of "Rosevilla". After some initial spats, Abey & Angel fall in love, but circumstances become the villain in their lives.
Annamma (Roma) & Chandy (Aju Varghese) get engaged, but the day before the wedding, Chandy elopes to be with another girl, informing his mother that he will be in Bali, Indonesia. Annamma follows him to the island to know the reason why Chandy ditched her, but there her life changes forever as she makes new friends & breaks out of her shell.
Bharath (Gokul Suresh Gopi), a student, has the weird habit of kissing people nearby when he is happy, regardless of the social situation. This gets him into trouble with gangster Ramakrishnan Bonacaud, aka Rambo (Vijay Babu), when Rambo shoots his own urinary bladder after he is distracted by Bharath's kiss. As Rambo tries to locate Bharath, he also recruits two petty criminals - Kumari (Soubin Shahir) and Puthari (Hareesh) to chase down Padayappa (Baiju), the local CI who crossed Rambo.
A diamond necklace worth Rs. 5 crore is stolen by 3 thieves - Thotti Sibi (Hareesh), Sachi (Dharmajan) & Murugan (Stunt Selva) - who hide it in a backpack that gets sold to a kid. Frantically, they hunt for the backpack, but meanwhile C.I. James (Mammootty) has been enlisted to hunt for the backpack by it's owner (Joy Mathew). James takes up the case, but he has a score to settle with Murugan, with whom he has a history.
Autistic genius Jude (Nivin Pauly) & a young singer with bipolar disorder called Crystal (Trisha Krishnan) become friends, even as Jude's father Dominique (Siddique) tries to evict Crystal & her dad from their rental house.
Guileless like a child and ever so full of life, Ambili is beloved by everyone in his village. The story traces Ambili's outlook towards life and of challenges others surrounding him that face him on an everyday basis. (imdb)
