Peaches Jackson

Jeannette Peret, daughter of a cigar-store owner, leaves her Greenwich Village home for France in hopes of finding there the love which eludes her at home. She becomes enamored of le Bebe, a giant of a vegetable peddler, but his unsophisticated ways disillusion her. Jack Malone, mate of the Langland, is accused of drunkenness by Crosby, a rival suitor of his sweetheart, Patty Thomas. He and the captain, who really was drunk, are both fired. He is finally vindicated by the children of the town, and Patty agrees to wait for him when he goes to sea in a ship his brothers have purchased for him and the captain.

Dr. John Brandon, who cares for charity patients in the slums, is thrown together with writer Norma Ashley when her car strikes a boy whom Brandon treats. Under Norma's influence, and against the wishes of his friend Father Farrell, Brandon leaves the slums and becomes the partner of Dr. Thurston, who, unknown to Brandon, is Norma's fiance. Now prosperous, Brandon flies into a rage when he hears Thurston and Norma ridiculing him.

Orphan Toby Tyler runs away from his cruel uncle and joins a circus to work as lemonade boy. When a little girl who rides horses bareback becomes ill, Toby saves her from getting fired by putting on a dress and wig and taking her place. After a series of similar misadventures, his talent is discovered, and Toby becomes the star clown.
