Sunset returns to find the Carson-Sterling feud still going. Sterling has been killed and it's not long before Andrew Carson is murdered. To end the feud Sunset challenges Martin Sterling to a shootout. Unknown to Sunset, Martin's sister Melinda has waylaid her brother and now appears for the shootout disguised in her brother's clothes.

In Elliot's initial appearance as Red Ryder, he finds himself framed for murder. Little Beaver then foils the crooked Sheriff's attempt to have Red killed excaping jail. When Hannah Rogers gives the Sheriff a note, Red sees her give him a signal. Gabby lifts the note and Red decodes it. The Duchess then gets a confession from Hannah enabling Red to set out after the outlaws.

Molybdenum deposits can make a man rich, but Stoner finds that the deposits run under the Clayton Ranch. Judge Ballard wants the Ranch so he has Garvey shoot Steve. When Ruth blames Stoner for the death of Steve, Ballard shoots Stoner and puts the blame on Ruth, who is holding the gun. This way, Ballard has no partners. While Garvey tries to shoot Jack over and over, Jack is looking for evidence to clear Ruth and convict Ballard.

Kane Richmond (Jerry) is approached by Adele Mara (Sharon) to ask mobster Gregory Gaye (Joe) not to kill her husband. Richmond does precisely that but things get confusing when husband turns up dead having committed suicide and left a note. Husband's business partner Richard Fraser (Steve) and Mara find the body along with the suicide note. But, this needs to be destroyed as the insurance policy won't pay out if the cause of death is suicide.

A reservation's new doctor masquerades as the legendary Indian god, "the Phantom Rider", to catch gang looting the reservation, unaware the leader is a phony Indian Agent.

Redwood Valley residents raise $50,000 for blasting a mountain tunnel to bring a new railroad there. Town leader Bidwell (James Craven) engineers a plot to steal the money and to blame it on the Reno Kid (Bob Steele) who has recently broken out of prison in order to clear himself of false charges that sent him there and caused him to lose his ranch. The badly-wounded sheriff turns his badge over to Red Ryder (Bill Elliott).

When the Sheriff of Las Vegas is killed in a bank holdup, Red Ryder is made the new Sheriff. His first problem arises when the Judge is shot and the Judge's son framed for the murder. Red knows the son is innocent from the type of bullet used and after hiding him from the lynch mob, sets a trap for the man he thinks is behind both the robbery and the murder.

The ranch of Red Ryder and his aunt, The Duchess, is being used as the training site for "Gentleman Jim" Corbett for his upcoming fight in Carson City, Nevada for the heavyweight championship against Bob Fitzsimmons.

Red Ryder returns to Sioux City, Wyoming, at the close of the Spanish-American War, settling down at the ranch of his aunt, The Duchess, with his pals Little Beaver and "Blizard". But Red soon discovers that the country is over-run by rustlers. Unknown to Red and the citizens, the rustlers are led by the town doctor who tips them off where and when to stage a profitable raid.

Escaping the law, Jim Parker arrives in a town that is controlled by Higgins and his crony Judge. When he stands up to Higgins he is made Sheriff only to be shot in the back, After recovering he returns to get the man that shot him. When the gang attacks, he fights back from the newspaper office. When a stray bullet nicks the printing press plate he sees that it is solid gold and its not long before the masquerades on both sides of the law are revealed.

Riding the plains with Little Beaver and Buckskin Blodgett, Red Ryder encounters bandits trying to hold up the stagecoach carrying Libby Brooks, owner of the Devil's Hole newspaper, and her brother Gerry. Red drives off the attackers. Gerry prints an editorial condemning gunmen and Frenchy Beaumont, owner of the hotel and saloon, tells his henchman Blackjack Keno to kill Gerry.

Entertainment trade-paper headlines report the resurgence of vaudeville as the new medium of television searches for new talent. At the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, master of ceremonies Robert Alda introduces the following vaudeville performers while being frequently interrupted by several comedians: Whirl, Twirl and a Girl execute a roller-skating act; The Carlyle Dancers perform with singing waiters and end with an interpretation of "Frankie and Johnny;", etc.

Poignant true story of Pastor Armin Ritter, who is sent to build a church in a backwoods community and rebuilds the faith of the residents. He ministers to the town folk, including an alcoholic carpenter.

When Tex Granger rides into Three Buttes, Helen Kent persuades him to buy the local newspaper. However, loan shark Rance Carson appoints the bandit Blaze Talbot as town marshal to act as his enforcer and soon the town is in chaos.
