Jennifer is a European girl who speaks Japanese a little. She arrives at temple in Japanese countryside to the funeral of prev head monk who she had link to, stays, and meets a boy there. The boy was a juvenile delinquent (and worse) who works out his parole in temple & grounds. Jennifer likes this silent boy and wants to help him overcome the not uncommon Japanese theme of him being socially isolated as he's different.
