A mysterious power failure in a small mountain town coincides with the disappearance of one of its most eccentric young residents. Todd Rohal's 23-minute short turns the goofy premise of the title into a weirdly lyrical parable of bigotry, loneliness, and places that are gone. An automaton clad in suspenders and a John Deere cap wanders a desolate urban wasteland, stoically enduring hatred and condescension, while his wife is abused by a demented junkman and his son tries to fit in with the Other Kids.
