A young man, Surya, is made to look after some land by his father. Surya was married away before being sent off to the patch of land, though his wife will join him later on as she is not of age yet. Surya is brash and disregards the caste system allowing Laxmi, a woman who works for him, to make him tea and cook him food. When Laxmi's deaf-mute husband runs away Surya invites Laxmi to live in his house with him and the two start an affair, causing the gossip to spread among shocked neighbours. (MadcapLaughs)
