Biography: Malayali Indian film director & screenwriter known primarily for his family based mainstream movies. In 1973, Sathyan debuted as an assistant director to Dr. Balakrishnan in Rekha Cine Arts. Sathyan kick-started his film direction with 'Kurukkante Kalyanam' in 1982. He teamed up with Sreenivasan as the screenwriter & made some of the most memorable films in Malayalam film history. Of late, he has ventured into screenwriting & now scripts his own films.

Nadodikkattu
Dasan (Mohanlal) and Vijayan (Sreenivasan) are employed as ill-paid peons. After they lose their jobs and then fail in a business venture, they decide to escape to Dubai, which is often the favored haven of Kerala's unemployed youth. They seek the services of a shady boatman, Gafoorkka, who promises to take them there. Dasan and Vijan gets offloaded not in Dubai, but in Chennai. What follows is how they struggle to earn a living, while battling their ever-present misfortunes.

Premachandran (Mohanlal) is a down-to-earth carpenter and is liked by the village folks. One day he meets Kanmani (Meera Jasmine), a girl of Tamil roots who is employed as a servant and is continually ill-treated by the family that employs her. Premachandran comes to her rescue. But this lands him into endless troubles and eventually into love.
Vinodayathra
Vinod (Dileep), an MCA graduate, still hasn't figured out what to do with his life. His parents decide to send him to his sister Vimala's (Seetha) house. She is married to Shaji Raghavan (Mukesh), an engineer with the Irrigation Department. The idea was to put some sense into Vinod's head. But Shaji isn't all that happy to have Vinod at home because his unmarried younger sister too is living with them. He doesn't want the younger sister to fall in love with his irresponsible brother-in-law.
Sandesham
Retd. Station Master Raghavan Nair's two sons, Prabhakaran (Sreenivasan) and Prakashan (Jayaram) belong to opposing political parties. Prabhakaran is a communist, whilst Prakashan is a right-winger. They quibble all the time over political issues, and although Raghavan Nair is initially impressed by what he assumes to be his sons' political knowledge and leadership capabilities, soon it turns to despair and anger, when he sees his family suffer in his sons' sibling rivalry.
Gandhinagar 2nd Street
When a spate of robberies takes place in a middle-class neighborhood colony, Madhavan (Sreenivasan), who runs a travel agency in the colony, gets his unemployed friend Sethu (Mohanlal) to pose as Raam Singh, a Nepali émigré, to fulfill the residents' demand for a Gurkha security guard. A police officer (Thilakan) and his daughter Maya (Karthika), move into the colony, bringing back bittersweet memories for Sethu.
Thooval Kottaram
Mohanachandran (Jayaram), although a lawyer by profession, does all sorts of odd jobs to support his large-sized family. He is engaged to marry Sujatha (Sukanya), a local school teacher. Devaprabha (Manju Warrier) and her grandfather Ramavarma Thampuran (Babu Swamy), of the royal bloodline and who has a mansion in the same village, comes for a short visit. Devaprabha, who has been mentally ill after her brother's death, finds solace in Mohanachandran, which troubles his fiancée Sujatha.

Debt-ridden Gopalakrishna Panikkar (Mohanlal) decides to sell off his house in the city to avoid a foreclosure on his house in the country. When he reaches the city to vacate the tenants from his house - Meera (Karthika) & family - he is shocked to learn that they have no intentions to move. What follows are Gopalakrishna Panikkar's hilarious attempts to evict them - from seeking legal advice, getting the help of the police, to moving in himself.

Murali (Mohanlal) returns to Kerala after toiling in the Middle East for 7 years, and with his life savings buys a second hand bus and starts a bus service, much to the chagrin of his elder brothers who were hoping to capitalize on Murali's savings by making him join their line of business. That was the start of a string of seemingly never-ending troubles for Murali and he struggles to cope with them.

Vijay Menon, a captain in the Indian army, on his way home on vacation, finds a badly bruised and beaten up journalist, Kumaran (Thilakan), by the side of the road and takes him to the hospital. When Kumaran dies the next day, and the police didn't seem to care to follow up on his death and catch the culprits, Vijay Menon decides to take matters into his own hands and investigate Kumaran's death, aided by his friend and sidekick Kutti Hassan (Jagathi Sreekumar).

Sankaran Nair (Thilakan), a Retd. driver has 4 kids - bank employee Krishnanunni (Balachandra Menon), drama artist Preman Vadakkummuri (Sreenivasan), & students Gopu (Baiju) & Rema (Parvathi). For Krishnanunni, everything is based on money, & this mentality of his brings friction within the family. He gets into a war of words with Sankaran Nair, & demands back the INR 25,000 he spent on Rema's wedding. Sankaran Nair vows to pay back the debt, & kicks Krishnanunni out of the house.
Artham
Ben Narendran (Mammootty), who decides to commit suicide because he decided that he was content with life, rescues Janaradhanan aka Janu (Jayaram), who was also about to commit suicide because he murdered someone by mistake. Having learned that Janu is the sole supporter of his family, Ben takes the blame for the murder & gets a life sentence. When Ben gets out on parole, he learns that Janu was killed by corrupt bigwig R. K. Nambiar (Murali), & he decides to bring him & his henchmen to justice.
Sreedharante Onnam Thirumurivu
Sreedharan (Mammootty), who runs a garage, is a simpleton, who is on the lookout for a bride who is a college graduate. When his uncle requests him to let his daughter Ashwathi (Neena Kurup) stay in Sreedharan's house, to finish off the last year of her studies, & also expresses his wish that Sreedharan should marry Ashwathi after her studies, Sreedharan becomes very happy, but what he finds though, is a very rude & arrogant Ashwathi. Sreedharan sets out to satisfy her whims & to win her heart.

In this sequel to 'Nadodikkattu', C.I.D. Ramdas (Mohanlal) & C.I.D. Vijayan (Sreenivasan), are summoned by Kerala Police to find the murderer of DySP Ashok Varma (Prathapachandran), who was on the tail of a group of smugglers. They find themselves facing a dangerous crime syndicate headed by Prabhakaran Thampi (Karamana). In addition, Ananthan Nambiar (Thilakan), the man they put behind bars in 'Nadodikkattu', escapes from jail in Tamil Nadu & comes seeking shelter with Prabhakaran, in Kerala.
Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka
Jayakanthan aka Jayan (Kunchako), whose father had eloped 25 years ago with his mother from the village of Paruthippara, comes back to claim compensation for his father's land which was acquired by the Government for building an airport. Bhargavan (Sreenivasan), an usurer who had illegally acquired that land, tells Balakrishnan Nambiar (Janardanan), Jayan's uncle, that Jayan had come to destroy the family's ancestral home. Balakrishnan, believing this, tries to drive Jayan away from the village.

Velayudhankutty (Jayaram), after a failed try to marry his uncle Shankarankutty Menon's (Innocent) daughter Amminikutty (Sitara), leaves for Palani to find an old pal Kunjikhader (Mammukoya) & to get a job. There, the search for Kunjikhader lands him in jail & he loses all his cash. Desperate, he robs Kaalimuthu (Krishnankutty Nair) & but his loot turns out to be a barber's kit, with which he becomes a barber. Later, he lies to Kaalimuthu about being an orphan & Kaalimuthu adopts him as his son.

Gopakumar (Mohanlal) buys a house from Dr. Muralikrishnan (Mukesh) to establish an office for his garment exporting business, only to find that Muralikrishnan's estranged wife Teresa (Sukanya) & kid are still living there, refuse to move out. After learning that Teresa's closest friends Prameela (Mohini) & Rahna (Muthumani) are also separated from their husbands, Gopakumar, with the help of his assistant Kamala (Meera Jasmine) & Immanuel (Innocent), decides to patch up their relationships.

Ravi Varma (Prem Nazir), a rich businessman settled in America, pines for his son Babu, lost at the age of 5. His blind wife had also died the day he lost Babu. With the help of his friend Unnithan (Oduvil) & attorney Ravindran (Sathar), he fakes his death & publishes an ad looking for his son. 3 people show up (Cochin Hanifa, Mohanlal & Jagathi) claiming to be Babu. All 3 of them pass all the tests Ravi Varma, Unnithan & Ravindran throw at them, leaving them confused as to who the real Babu is.
Kinnaram
Sethu (Sukumaran) & Unni (Nedumudi) are co-workers & best pals who did everything together & shared everything. When Radha (Poornima Jayaram), Unni's acquaintance from his village, comes to Madras for a new job, both men get attracted to her. They start to woo her & in the process, end up fighting with each other. Each now starts trying to get Radha's attention in their own way. They also have to shield her from their skirt chaser boss, V. Narayan Das (Sankaradi), the GM of Southern Industries.

Thirumuttathu Kochuthomman (Thilakan) & his youngest son Roy (Jayaram), were more of friends than father & son. Roy whiles away his life pursuing his passion of drama, incurring the wrath of the family, except that of Kochuthomman, who supported him secretly. However, when Roy marries Bhavana (Samyuktha Varma), a poor girl, Kochuthomman kicks Roy out of his house & his life. Roy, abased by this & faced with the sudden prospect of poverty & unemployment, determines to eke out a living on his own.
Yaathrakkarude Shraddhakku
Circumstances force Ramanujan aka Ram (Jayaram) to share a train coupe & subsequently his apartment, with Jyothi (Soundarya), posing as husband & wife, in Chennai. On the eve of Jyothi's marriage, the groom's family learns of this, leading to the wedding getting called off. Unable to bear the news, Jyothi's father (Nedumudi) gets hospitalized & he gets Jyothi forcibly married to Ram. An angry Jyothi, who assumes that Ram cheated her into this, gives Ram a cold shoulder, after their marriage.
Golandhara Vartha
Rameshan Nair (Mammootty), the village improver, tries to reform thug Karakkoottil Dasan (Sreenivasan) & get him married. But when he recognizes the bride-to-be Rajani (Kanaka), as a girl whom he had once gotten nabbed for immoral trafficking, he blocks the marriage & later, also a job which Rajani took up. Later, he learns that Rajani was innocent, but by then, he was stuck with her. To get Rajani a place to stay, Rameshan had to pose as Rajani's husband, leading to misunderstandings at home.

'Nathu' Narayanan, a small-time thug who does anything for money, takes money from contractor Ayyappan Nair (Oduvil) & gangster Karim (Keerikkadan) to beat up Assistant Engineer Benny (Jayaram). Things get out of hand & Benny dies. Nathu is devastated when he finds that Benny was the husband of Asha (Urvashi), a lady he knew & helped once before. A penitent Nathu helps out Asha & gives up his life of crime, but soon the cops investigating the murder get hold of clues which links Nathu to it.
Bhagyadevatha
Palackal Benny Chacko (Jayaram), a Cable TV business owner, marries Daisy (Kanika), with plans of using the promised 5 lakhs dowry to buy a fishing boat & better his financial situation. When Daisy's father Anto's (Venu Nagavalli) plans for raising the dowry doesn't work out in time, an angry Benny drops Daisy off back at her house. The twist of fate happens in the form of a 2 crore lottery win for Daisy, after which an embarrassed Benny must now win back Daisy's heart again, to have her back.

A Robin Hood-style thief (Mammootty) who robbed from the rich & gave to the poor, pulls off many daring robberies, posing constant headaches for honest cop CI Shekaran (Murali) & also feigns love towards dancer Annie (Shobana) on multiple occasions, to elude arrests. However, when Shekaran is accused of the murder of sensationalist Ambalakkadan Krishnan (C.I. Paul), the thief, the only one who could prove that Shekaran was innocent, comes clean & puts his life on the line to save Shekaran.
My Dear Muthachen
Industrialist Mohandas & Sreedevi dies in a car accident, orphaning their 4 kids Meera, Maya (Joemol), Manu (Tarun) & Manju. Seizing the chance, family & friends descend upon their house with various claims, with their eye on Mohandas's vast wealth. Seeing that the control over their home is slipping away, the kids bring in a rover, Parameswaran (Thilakan), to act as their long-lost grandfather & to chase away others. In the process, Parameswaran also takes moral responsibility for the children.
T.P. Balagopalan. M.A
Balagopalan (Mohanlal), a struggling office worker, takes a fancy to school teacher Anitha (Shobana) & to impress her parents, pawns his prized 8 cent of land to raise Rs. 10,000 for Anitha's litigation crazy dad (Balan K. Nair). After he wins his case & becomes rich though, Anitha's dad gives Balagopalan a cold shoulder & tries to marry Anitha off to advocate Ramakrishnan (Sreenivasan). After losing his land & his job, a dejected Balagopalan decides to leave town to his native village.

Josekutty (Murali) who ran a vegetable wholesale business in Palani, brings over his wife Teresa (Urvashi) & kids for the Christmas vacation. There, Teresa starts suspecting an affair between Josekutty & the bubbly girl next door, Kaveri (Sunitha), fueled by Kaveri's step-mother Padmini's (Ragini) gossip, with disastrous results.

Unwed single mother Vanaja (Urvashi) & her daughter Ashwathy (Meera Jasmine) were more of friends than mother & daughter, but when Ashwathy falls in love with struggling ambulance chaser Ijo (Narein), Vanaja opposes it because Ijo was an orphan, didn't have a family & she wanted to marry Ashwathy off into a big family. Infuriated, Ashwathy demands to know why they didn't have a family themselves & who her father was. Vanaja refused to answer & this drives Ashwathy away from her.

When Revathi Menon (Lizy) refuses to meet her sick father Balan Menon (Gopi), whom she separated from when she was 3 years old when her parents separated & whom she had avoided for the past 16 years, Revathi's roommate & friend Suzanna (Radha), who was an orphan & pined for a father's love, goes to see Balan Menon, pretending to be Revathi.
Pappan Priyeppetta Pappan
Pappan (Rahman), a famous singer, gets killed by his rival Umesh (Jose), a week before his wedding to his girlfriend Zarina (Lizy). However, it turned out that Yama (Thilakan), the Lord of death, took Pappan's life mistaking him for someone else & that he had a week more to live. Yama gives Pappan different freshly-dead bodies to try on till then & finally Pappan settles for Devadas (Mohanlal), a cop killed in action. Now, as Devadas, Pappan has to prove his death & bring Umesh to justice.

Vinayan (Mohanlal), born into a rich family, gets suffocated by the city life & yearns for the countryside. Finally, he gets a job as a Village Officer in the village of Manikulangara, & in spite of his family's protests, move there. Village simpleton, Subramania Hariramachandran (Sukumaran), suffocated by his devotee father's strict ways, runs off to Chennai at the behest of pal Kumar (Jagathi Sreekumar) & puts up with him at his apartment complex. There, Subramania is attracted to his neighbor, college girl Sarita (Madhavi), & tries to win her heart by impressing her, but his uncouth village breeding causes him to keep goofing up.

Gopan (Jayaram), a poor small time videographer, marries Asha Lakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), a rich girl, against her family's wishes. When Asha Lakshmi, a talented dancer, gets noticed by famous dancer Maya Varma (Bhanupriya) & given the spotlight, Gopan feels sidelined & unloved & leaves town with their infant kid Ashok. Landing in Goa, Gopan takes up a job at a gas station & sets up a new life there.

Vidyalakshmi (Mamtha Mohandas), a Hindu, marries a Muslim, Shanavas Ahmed (Asif Ali), against the wishes of both families & start a family. However, when Shanavas is killed in a mishap, Vidyalakshmi has to struggle to make ends meet & finally ends up on the streets. Preman (Jayaram), an auto rickshaw driver comes to Vidyalakshmi's aid & take her & her daughter to his colony. With the help & encouragement of Preman & the colony dwellers, Vidyalakshmi gets a second chance at life.
Irattakkuttikalude Achan
Anupama (Manju Warrier), born into a wealthy family, leaves everything to marry Rajeevan (Jayaram) despite her family's stiff opposition. Later they have twin boys, but Rajeevan gives up one child to childless couple Venugopal (Murali) & Devi (Urmila Unni), without Anupama's knowledge, after Devi had had her 4th miscarriage. However, overcome with guilt, Rajeevan confides to Anupama, but a livid Anupama leaves home & gives Rajeevan an ultimatum to only come see her after getting her baby back.

Thomas Kurien (Balachandra Menon), a Christian, & Saraswati (Shobana), a Hindu Brahmin, fall in love & get married, & as a result get ostracized by their families. However, when they have a baby girl, both families reconcile & visit them. But Thomas's & Saraswati's troubles were only getting started, after both their culturally different families start fighting for dominance, each putting forth demands for raising the kid in adherence to their religion & finally causing for the couple to split.
Sandhanagopalam
Krishna Kurup (Thilakan), a factory worker, struggles to make ends meet for his family, while his sons struggle themselves to land stable jobs. While on a trip to secure a job for his second son Vinayan (Jagadish), Kurup & Vinayan meet with an accident, Kurup goes missing & is later presumed dead. Months later, Kurup turns up very much alive, but is shocked to find that his children have already built dreams around the proceeds from his death, & they were not prepared to accept him alive.
Samooham
Rajalakshmi (Suhasini), an unwilling young lady & the daughter of a late popular politician, is drawn into politics after she is asked to run for office as an MLA by her family & the ruling party. She wins & soon after, a ton of responsibilities land on her shoulders. Seeing the plight of her constituents at the hands of the local crime boss Krishnamoorthy, who had the cops & the politicians on his payroll, Rajalakshmi starts a crusade to bring him to justice.

Ajayan Menon (Mohanlal), having made his fortune in the Middle East, has settled down in his home village to be with his mother Ammukutty Amma (Sheela) & lead a peaceful life. Now middle-aged, Ajayan gets a kick out of boasting to his friends about a fictitious wanton life he had during his younger years. His worst nightmare comes true however, when a teenage boy (Rahul Pillai) shows up & claims to be his son & everyone believes the boy. Ajayan resorts to various ways to get rid of the boy.

In a fishing community, a young girl named Thamara (Namitha Pramod) lives on her own at the shore & fishes for a living after the death of her father. She rescues an old man called K.P. (Nedumudi Venu) from a suicide attempt & she feels a father-like bond towards him. However the old man turns out to be not quite what he seemed & keeps changing his story causing for Thamara & her friends to go on a quest to find out K.P.'s real identity.
Oru Indian Pranayakatha
Aymanam Sidharthan (Fahadh Faasil) is the ambitious local youth wing leader of a political party. However, his dreams are shattered when he is bypassed for the nomination for the MLA seat. At this time, a Canadian citizen of Malayali origin, Irene Gardner (Amala Paul), visits Kerala to shoot a documentary & Sidharthan joins up as her assistant. Deepa, however has zero interest in giving him an interview, but despite numerous snubs, Vineeth persists.

Jomon (Dulquer Salmaan), the prodigal son of businessman Vincent (Mukesh), is the black sheep of the family, deemed irresponsible & always blamed for wasting money by Vincent, & Jomon's elder brothers. However, when Vincent's businesses fail & he goes broke, he finds that everyone except Jomon has bailed on him, & the only one he could rely on is Jomon.

Pining for a lavish life abroad, a lazy but lovable guy next door crafts a scam to avoid a career in nursing and find a wealthy spouse to secure a visa. He's a do-nothing used to moving through life with minimal effort. But his calculated ambitions may take all he's got.
