Casper, the Friendly (and always helpful) Ghost, finds a lost crate containing Ozzie, a baby ostrich. Casper tries to deliver it to the address on the crate while the baby ostrich is eating up everything in sight. After finally completing his mission, Casper realizes that he has delivered Ozzie to a taxidermist's shop, and he must rescue Ozzie. (imdb)

Two writers at Paramount Cartoon Studios try to think of good stories for Casper the Friendly Ghost. They review scenes from "Casper's Spree Under The Sea," "Once Upon A Rhyme" and "To Boo Or Not To Boo." Eventually Casper himself emerges from a poster on the wall and scares the writers away. Casper explains that he thought up that gag to end the cartoon!

In the frozen North, Captain Herman of the Northwest Mousies is trying to capture notorious outlaw Pierre Katnip, who has been robbing the little mice of all their food. It's a battle to the finish, but Northwest Mousies always get their man... or is that cat?

Cilly Goose creates a sensation when she paints one of her eggs gold and is hailed far and wide, in Mother Gooseland, as the "goose that lays the golden eggs." But, Cilly awakens and finds she was only dreaming. But one of the goslings from her latest hatching does emerge with a golden tooth displayed. (imdb)

After reading about leprechauns, Lulu decides to find one and rob him of his pot of gold. Meanwhile, Max the midget escapes from prison and hides in the woods, where Lulu finds him. Thinking that he's a leprechaun (since he's only three feet tall), Lulu chases him all over the city. In the end, the criminal finally gives himself up to the police, who reward Lulu. (imdb)

In an attempt to prevent his daughter from spending her money needlessly on sweets, Mr. Moppet tells Lulu the story of The Grasshopper and The Ant. Seeing how the grasshopper wasted his money, and could count on no help from the ant, Lulu promises her father that he won't waste her money any more. But the temptation of the local candy store grows too strong, and Lulu buys all of the sweets that she can get hold of in order to "save up for the winter."

For misbehaving, Little Lulu gets a spanking from Daddy with the book "Art of Self Defense" in her pants. In the shower, after being sent to her room, Lulu starts to sing "I'm Just Curious." Later Lulu sneaks out and goes after a chicken hawk who, thinking that he's a stork, tries to get Lulu's chickens from her family's henhouse.

Lulu is angry when she sees her boyfriend Fatso out with another girl. To make it up to Lulu, Fatso promises to marry Lulu when they grow up. However, while carving a love message into a tall tree, Fatso falls out of it and onto a small sapling. Popeye and Olive are atop the highest peak in Yellowstone Park; Olive falls off into a deep hole, where a caveman and dinosaur are still living. Olive almost ends up in the dinosaur, but the caveman (longing for a woman) saves her. Olive falls for him, but Popeye, noticing Olive's absence, comes down and saves her from the caveman. They fight it out; the caveman stuffs Popeye into a not-quite-empty spinach can and feeds him to the dinosaur, but of course, Popeye breaks out and wins the day.

Mr. Harmonica regales the local kids with the tale of why pigs wallow in mud. As the story goes, pigs once lived very clean lives in houses, always picking up after themselves. Despite their cleanliness, they are rejected by others because they are ugly. Junior falls in the mud one day and is washed off by his frantic mother. This cartoon concerns the efforts of a kitten, Gabriel, and a mouse, Peter, who apparently live in peaceful coexistence in the home of Parson Peaseporridge, to get the Parson to wake up at night and feed them their milk and cheese, respectively. It seems that Abner is the baseball that got whacked by Mickey Mantle for a home run against the Detroit Tigers, on 10 September 1960 ... sailing for an astonishing 634 feet (193 metres).

Percy, a meek little guy, goes to a jewelry shop to have his watch fixed. Crooked jeweler Ralph smashes the watch with a hammer, telling Percy that it's out of style. He then proceeds to sell Percy a cuckoo clock with a little dead bird, which Percy replaces with a baby eagle (feeding it super eagle food). Percy goes away, and when the eagle begins to grow, it's too much for him. He returns the clock, and he and the eagle attack Ralph.

Swifty tries to con Shorty with an accident policy.

Shorty picks up a taxi. Swifty turns out to be the cab driver, and he plays every known cab-driver trick on Shorty... and even some new ones. In the end, Shorty gets his revenge.

Wingy the chicken is excited that it's the first day of school. Buck the weasel, disguises himself as his teacher, builds a dilapidated schoolhouse, and tries various ways to eat Wingy!

Sergeant Snorkle's entire platoon prepares for war games with another base. During the battle, Beetle and Zero manage to louse up the games. They both get trapped inside of a tank, and, before long, win the war games for Camp Swampy.

Van Bellingham Cartwright Forbes arrives at Camp Swampy to take on the best men for the new psychological test. Beetle and Snorkle are picked to participate in a battle of wits with the champ, Sergeant Tortoise.

Sergeant Snorkle is bothered by the lack of beauty at Camp Swampy, so he sends away for a Japanese leechee tree. While the tree is being planted, Sergeant Snorkle heads for a little R&R. Private Zero destroys the tree. Fearful of what their Sergeant might do to them for wrecking his tree, Beetle, Lieutenant Cosmo and Zero buy another Japanese Leechee tree from a local Japanese restaurant and plant that. The scheme falls apart when our heroes set their jeep in reverse and wreck the new tree.

Little Lulu's daddy gives her a blue posey to exhibit at a flower show. She loses it on the way and a bulldog prevents her from reacquiring it, but she outwits him and proceeds to the show. There she breaks the stalk when she uses her bean-shooter at a hummingbird. She tosses the flower in a barrel of Vigaro and the flower suddenly bursts into bloom again. (imdb)

Popeye takes Olive to a stage show of a hypnotist (Bluto), who also levitates objects. While he's doing this, Popeye makes him lose his concentration, so in retaliation, the hypnotist pulls Olive on stage and turns her into a chicken. Popeye comes down to fight and the hypnotist tries to turn him into a monkey, but Popeye pulls a mirror into place. He recovers, and turns Popeye into a donkey, then smacks him around a bit, but spinach comes to the rescue. (imdb)

A burlesque of a movie newsreel as it kids some typical events that were happening at the time; Gloria Gorgeous christens a new ocean-liner which promptly sinks; and a 200-foot high statue of Longfellow is unveiled. It winds up by introducing a new singing cowboy, who promptly tells the audience to 'follow the bouncing ball" and sing "Jimgle, Jangle, Jingle" along with him. Some audiences did, and some didn't.

A view of pre-historic days when the dinosaurs were the beasts of burden for the cavemen, and slapstick gags on that premise, that provides the cue for the introduction of the bouncing ball to come along and ask the theatre audience to sing along on "Sweet Adeline."
