After a late-realization that he is an alcoholic, TV celebrity Raghunandan (Mohanlal) decides to fight his alcoholism, which had once wrecked his marriage. After turning sober, Raghunandan, through his show 'Show D' Spirit' exposes the societal effects of chronic alcoholism in Kerala by following the life of a chronic alcoholic, a plumber by the name of Maniyan (Nandu).

An adaptation of the 'Sahitya Academy' award-winning play '18 Natakangal' by Jayaprakash Kuloor, the story is centered on man-woman relationships, which is weaved into a single story encapsulating the struggles of a filmmaker, exploring the different facets of the institution called marriage. It stars 10 lead actors, appearing as 5 couples, played by Jayasurya & Meghana Raj, Kunchacko Boban & Nithya Menon, Indrajith & Padmapriya, Shankar Ramakrishnan & Mythili, & Siddique & Ann Augustine.

Bavutti (Mamootty), an orphan who works as the caretaker & driver of a rich businessman Sethu (Shankar Ramakrishnan), tries to keep Sethu's family together when Sethu's wife Vanaja (Kavya Madhavan) gets a vistor from her past - her ex-boyfriend Satheesh (Vineeth) whom she thought to be dead but who now threatens to reveal their past to Sethu, unless Vanaja pays him a large sum of money.

Jagannathan (Mohanlal), a political activist from Kerala, along with his sidekicks Varkey (Aju Varghese) & Jabbar (Baburaj), are imported as consultants for the Republican candidate for the California state Governor's election. There, Jagannathan uses tactics from the Indian politics to try & push the candidate to victory.

Stuck in a mundane life with an unappreciative family who ditches her & moves to Ireland, Nirupama Rajeev (Manju Warrier), an Upper Division Clerk at the collectorate in Kochi, decides to chase her dreams once again, after inspiration from her old collegemate Susan David (Kanika). Nirupama takes up pesticide-free organic farming, starts a trend & becomes famous.

Four strangers - jewelry salesgirl Teena (Aparna Nair), insurance agent Veermani (Jayasurya), photographer Firoz (Vinay Forrt) & petty criminal Thampi (Vinayakan) - are involved in a stabbing incident inside an elevator, which leaves Thampi dead, Veermani & Firoz hospitalized & Teena arrested for murder, as the cops try to unravel what happened.

Set against the backdrop of Kerala's cutthroat 24x7 news media, the movie is about two parallel romance stories - one between two TV anchors, Roopesh Nambiar (Dileep) & Kabani (Nikhila Vimal), at a news channel called 'Nalamidam', & two 50+ year old doctors, Sarayu (Suhasini) & Satheesh (Sashi Kumar), who were lovers in medical school, but who got separated & was meeting again after a long time.

Ajay (Asif Ali) drops out of the National Defense Academy & decides to visit his estranged father, lawyer Sidharth Shankar (Prem Prakash), who was weakened after getting cancer. There, Ajay joins his father's fight - to obtain justice for Venukuttan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), a retired grandfather who was unable to get his grandchild Arya (Sanusha) to the hospital after an accident, because of the political rally of a major political party snarling up the traffic.

A group of mercenaries lead by Raju (Mohanlal), chases down a smuggled shipment of 100 kilos of gold which lands at Karipur Airport, but which then disappears en route to its destination.
