Shope Shodeinde

Comedy which focused on a family of Jamaican heritage, the Powells, living in a council house in Willesden Green, London. It was set in a council house in north London. Focusing on the young-adult Powell children, whose parents have returned to Jamaica, leaving them by themselves.

Victorian England. Former sea captain William Targett returns from Dahomey, Africa, to his native Dorset village. He brings with him his black wife Tulip, a native princess, and her young son. Bigotry and ignorance are shown against the Targetts, finally erupting into open violence.

A black family, and their white neighbor, celebrate Christmas. But things do not go as well as they hope.
