Levenslied follows the lives of the various members of a choir in Haarlem. Every Thursday evening they sing all their worries away. The series tells a mosaic of stories about ordinary people: a young welfare mother, a hardworking lawyer, an ambitious real estate agent or a Dutch teacher at a school community.
There are two couples. The four characters are played by eight actors. There is little dialogue. Sometimes a couple does not seem to live together, just to be alive together in the same room.
